Airship & Gil questionsFollow

I just got the airship pass and I want to know if I board the ship will I be able to ride it, use "return" or "teleport" to get back to Gridania or am I stuck where it lands for awhile?
I saw a user say stuff about buying Gil, is that against the rules?

You can use return, riding the airship does not tie you to any area, in fact you don't actually see yourself on an airship, you merely zone to your destination city.

Teleport and Return can be used anywhere.

Yes, it is absolutely against the rules to buy (or sell) gil as this would give you an unfair advantage in game. If you do and get caught you'll be perma-banned.

The airship is pretty much a cutscene.

Buying gil is, in a word, lame. (plus bad things will happen if you get caught)

Return will take you to whatever Aetheryte you have registered as your return point. So if you take an airship from Gridania and go to Uldah and have your return point set as Gridania, and you use return, Gridania is where you'll go.

Don't buy Gil. Don't sell Gil. Don't be friends with people who buy or sell Gil. The last thing we need is the task force up our games *** nerfing everything because RMT can take advantage of it. Don't encourage the behavior.

Just do add on to this, You can set 3 'favorite' Aetheryte points to teleport to. Those favorite points will offer teleports at a discount price. So you have the option of setting a favorite in each of the cities for quick and easy travel. However, I think it would still be cheaper to fly.

The 3 favorite places are in addition to your home point which is free. So you can really set them strategically for easy travel.

Also, don't be afraid to abuse the heck out of chocobo porters for local travel. They are far, far cheaper than teleports, and from some of the more distant hamlets they give you a nice mini break to run and grab a drink or go to the potty.

Every aetheryte seems to have a chocobo porter ten feet away.

Be smart about how you use your gil, and there will absolutely be no need to buy it.

Sure it's in everyone's common sense directory, but also tally up the costs from getting to point a - point b and choose your travel based on that.

Example, if you have a 350 gil teleport to a distant area (probably would need to be a favorite) and you would need to purchase an airship ride (200 gil) and a Ferry ride (100-200) gil - then using the teleport is not only quicker but has the potential to save gil or use the same amount. Also as Catwho mentioned don't take the porters for granted they can equal big gil savings in the long run even if it may take a little longer.

Yeah I wasn't planning on buying Gil I was just wondering since the same person said the same message advertising one website three times. It would be pretty awesome if square enix would let us buy Gil or items from them besides the stuff you get for signing up for months of play.
Thanks for your responses on the airship I was hesitating on getting on it.
