We've got 200 and most arent up there yet. That's ok. I'll stick with ZAM though, they are a good bunch. Nice group of people looking to help out. I'm not going to rush them to keep up with my schedule, just as I would not expect them to rush me to keep up with theirs. I'm not going to run off to join elitists because that is not what I am about. But I also dont want to spend 8 hours trying to beat a mission that all I want to do is complete once.

I'm trying to be understanding, but now your just not making sense. You commented to me previously that you have RL pulling you away from the game and don't feel you should have to wait around for me to do something i could do later, but here you say your not rushing people to keep up with your schedule, please make up your mind.

And I'm super happy that you are happy with your healing job, here, take one of these. Smiley: cookie I live, breathe and sleep black mage and blue mage, and I think it is fairly upsetting that four plus classes are grouped into the term "dps". I think a black mage is not only dd, it is crowd control, and there should be one in every party.

Don't pull that cookie crap with me. Yes I'm happy with my job, just because your not happy with yours, and crying that SE put your baby into DPS is stupid. We all knew ahead of time that SE made 3 roles for this game, TANK, DPS, HEALER. Now, if enough people complain enough that there is not enough diversity or whatever you want to call it so your DPS isn't labeled a DPS then SE may make changes to the DF or party make-up.

Edited, Sep 6th 2013 3:28pm by RyanSquires

Sorry about that, I finally had a good reason to use the cookie icon. Smiley: tongue I really didnt mean to offend. No tears on this end. But really, be a healer because you enjoy the job, not because it gets you into duty finder faster.

So there we go, some feedback for the devs: Stop dungeon countdowns and timers and keep monsters non-aggressive until 1. All members are out of CS or 2. A party member engages the monster directly.

To me it just sounds like the OP person had a bad PUG. The first time I PUG peopled dropped out and I don't know why because I'm not that fast with Google Translate. The 2nd PUG we steam rolled it with people watching all CS.

No respect for others, just want to speed run, insult others who watch the CS. Yeah, I've had "you're kind" in my party before. Telling me how we barely have enough time to finish without me watching the cutscenes and then we finish with 40 minutes remaining WITH me watching them.

No Louis, I am not. Please don't mistunderstand my stance. I believe that people misread my OP. I edited it for clarity.

I did have three bad PUGs in a row. I did not initiate conflict in any.

Sorry about that, I didn't tell you what was in them, only that there were an excessive amount, and are halted unless the player presses the X button.

If they wanted to put cut scenes in their TIMED dungeons they should have made them brief and unskippable. Dcuo has multiple cut scenes in every instance and they are all short and unskippable except some longer ones at the end. Don't blame the players, blame the designers.

Not upset about the players actions, just wishing that the devs would institute a quick fix to quell a player preference disagreement in an otherwise superb game. The issue won't fix itself, because there will always be people like you to fuel one of the extreme ends.

Well this is my point. The content is story-related. If you want to run it to farm, you should expect that people will be doing it for the first time and want to experience it, right? There are more efficient ways to earn Tomes, and the Tome reward is mainly to encourage people to help out players doing it for the first time, as the dungeon has no other drops.

Even skipping the cutscenes, it's less tomes/hr than wanderers, and Amdapor has 80 philosophy and 40 mythic. CLEARLY, Ampdapor is the best place to go. If you want to speed run the story, don't solo-queue in the duty finder. Shout for a party or something.

It really ruined what was a great conclusion to the story for me, having 2 people ***** out the other 6 for watching the conclusion to the 30-hour campaign.

Totally right, I'm not farming the story dungeons, that would be ridiculous. What's funny is that the only time I have ever seen the whole party collectively skip cs in duty finder was when the pal started off by saying "I am not one of those types that gets all bent out of shape when someone wants to watch a cs". I just kinda skipped the cs out of respect for the guy being cool. (I kind of wish I could go back and watch them again though)

Again, in case you missed the 480 disclaimers, I am not an elitist speed runner. K, that out of the way, yes, sadly your stance is that of one extreme end. The other stance is to skip every cutscene instantly. I am neutral. I want to beat the story to get on with my life, and I wish the game would make it easier for me to read the story while I am playing. Are we done?

I thought your post was well worded. Not a rant but instead descriptive about the problem. Can't deny it is an issue. Dropping CS skippers straight into battle HAS to be fixed.

Thanks Gnu. Hard to sneak a ligitimate issue on a controversial topic past all the troll flame. Smiley: tongue I had to pull out my pacify stick and do battle for a second.

Hey thanks! I know it was minor, but the edit is appreciated.

Now to break that "can't be unseen" mental thing. If I figure that out I'll let everyone who's seen the Mog Station logo know...

I definitely support the request to change how dungeons and CSs are handled, you're right on target with that.

Troll flame? People watching cs's were attacked for not caring about the people who only have 15 minutes to play a game because of wife aggro. Seriously its not extreme to want to be able to watch the story of the game one has put hours into. Its not extreme to not want to miss it. I would bet a lot of gil those saying hurry up have watched the cs's themselves their first time through. If the speed runners werent so impatient they wouldnt get tossed into a battle before anyone is ready. That is their own fault not any bad programing.

The bad programming comes in where CS skippers get dropped into battle immediately, and not after the entire party is done with their CSs. It also comes in when the timer keeps ticking while waiting for people still in a CS.

Which coincidentially, was Valkayree's point way back at the very beginning (before people began assuming he was complaining about waiting for players.)

I do enjoy being a healer, i am used to it as smn/whm from 11, all be it, i would still pick a job that got me into a DF faster. I think that once more jobs come out that the wait times for other jobs will level out. After reading some more post, i do feel that you've made a valid, all be it somewhat misleading, argument in the beginning. But i also feel the more you try to explain your situation and reasoning, the more you seem to go against what your previously stated.

I think if anything should be implemented in a dungeon, is the ability NOT to pull someone that is viewing a CS out of it. I had a group that did this accidentally. We ran into a boss while a member was still in CS. We apologized and we regrouped afterwards and re-ran the dungeon with the person to make amends.

Again, I personally did not attack anybody watching cs's. I fact in one of my disbanded parties, I befriended a paladin cs watcher from Excalibur after the healers left who wanted him out of the cs... Seriously, you are like Fox news, you take a fact and twist it. Keep twisting my words and I'll keep on calling you a troll.

Anyway in the current context, absolutely refusing to see another's side and insisting on watching every cutscene is indeed taking an extreme viewpoint. You may be within your rights to do this, absolutely, but in this context, it is the extreme side of one viewpoint, and that's a fact. People are not speed running the final two story quests. The rewards are not worth it to do so. Every explanation I was given by the folks urging people out of cutscenes was because they wanted to just finish the quest, not finish it fast. Just because you feel that you are absolutely correct in your viewpoint does not deny that it is part of an issue, and does not automatically make your viewpoint less extreme. The person holding the extreme viewpoint is actually less likely to think that they are part of the extreme because their center is leaned toward one side. Just perspective.

The OP was simply miswritten. I am wrong often. I should not have stated my personal feelings, although I am conflicted with my take (don't want a repeat but want to watch cs). I usually just read really fast, but for those two I started skipping into about the third or fourth one, especially when the others were getting mad.

I can get directly behind where this thread is now. Yes, timers should be stopped and aggression be held until all are out, like the start of any DF event.
