Hi guys,
Paranoid question here. I'm really looking forward to playing ARR, and am hoping to import my character into the main game from 1.0 as I had done during P3 testing. Due to various circumstances I haven't actually been online to play since P3, so haven't imported my character into the game proper yet.
There is no time limit on doing this, is there? Hopefully at some point next week ill be n a position to do the copy and finally start playing.

You are correct, there is no time limit on transferring 1.0 characters.
As long as you do not cancel your FFXIV service account through your SE Account, you can start up anytime with your 1.0 character.

Even if you cancel your account, they'll hold onto it (for how long, I don't know). I canceled my service last August, then reinstated it with the release of ARR and I still had my character.
