I play on PS3 my Desktop and my Laptop.... yes all at different times. One thing that is annoying is that my gear sets my action bars and my UI nothing saves across the platforms so any changes I make while playin on them I have to turn around and change on each platform. Does anyone know how to make it so I dont have to do this or is there no real work around.

They are all stored locally. So you'd have to have a way to save them to the server (your account) and load them manually on your other systems. I think that was an option in FFXI, but I haven't seen it yet on FFXIV.

I think at some point they can fix it... however, at some point you'll have your mains to 50 and it won't matter much anymore other than actual gear sets changing from time to time.

For PC on XI you could copy the file and move it between computers, dunno what the file is on XIV. I only play on my desktop when I'm in my man cave watching TV so not that often.

why wouldnt it matter for your mains at 50 other than gear sets? surely youd have different abilities and still have those to reset eveytime you play on a different platform and setting em to the hotbar all the time (for the first time on that platform) would get annoying

In xi you can save macros to the server at the character selection screen by hitting and holding cntrl alt shift b or something like that.

Not sure where the user files for XIV are stored, but for XI, since they were stored in a separate folder from the rest of the app, I set up a Dropbox account, and made a virtual link of the user folder inside the dropbox folder. That way any time a change happened in the user folder it was updated in the dropbox folder, and any time there was an update in the dropbox folder, the user folder was updated too.

Then I made the same virtual folder links on all my computers that I played XI on, and that keeps your user files (macros, map markers, inventory sorting, etc..) always be in sync with each other.

Perhaps it's possible to set up something similar for XIV if they store the user data in a separate folder.

On PC it's stored in C:\Users\NAME\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

Found this out yesterday after installing a new SSD, and logged into game with everything reset. I transferred the whole folder and it changed everything back to how it was on old HDD.

At 50 it's a minor annoyance and a one time deal... Oh I forget, you're into finding massive issue with small problems lately.
