Hello! I ran into a japanese player last night on a NA server and I was wondering something. Do japanese players actually play on NA servers? Or is this uncommon. I thought it was cool cause that person helped me then said ieie :D. Im trying to learn japanese but I had to look that up lol. It means no prob, or your welcome but its casual talk. Makes me feel bad cause I said thank you about 50 times after they said your welcome lol. I was a sad panda when I first started ff14 arr and seen servers were split. I was also wondering if I wanna play with a japanese crowd, should I make a character on a japanese server? I wanna play with my english homies from ff11 but I also wanna play with some japanese folks. Is there any way to type in japanese in the game as well? Im guessing no for ps3 but I have a pc XD. Im sorry if this is posted elsewhere also >,<, I looked but Im bad at overlooking things. Thank you for your time! =^.^=

You can create a character on any server, and it wouldn't be surprising that, much like NA's/EU's have issues during their prime time that JP's are having issues during theirs. So I would think that, like the NA's/EU's, they make accounts on those servers when theirs are locked.

Or JP people who live in NA and prefer to have better latency? Just like there are English speaking people who live in Japan and play on JP server.

You can use the autocomplete for translation in the game.

E.g. Type "Congra" and then press tab. It will open a menu where you can select "Congratulations" and this will be displayed in the native language of the player reading it. So you will see it as English but the Japanese player will see it in Japanese. There are many built in phrases to help you communicate.
