FFXI vs FFXIV Event Rewards?Follow

Ok, so I know this is the first FFXIV:ARR event, and I'm sure they just wanted to put something out to say they did it, but really I preferred the items you received in the FFXI events more.

First of all, FFXI you had to actually talk to someone and engage in some sort of side side quest. (Yes I understand that this particular type of event may happen in future and that FFXI did not have any FATE's or similar things.)

Second, THE ITEMS! Now I'm not complaining about the way the swim suits look. Square didn't know how to dress men in FFXI either, but I miss the +1 items from completing event quests multiple times in diff city-states! What about the cookie hat?! What about the special effects??? I WANT COOL EFFECTS WITH RIDICULOUS COOL DOWNS!!!!!

This is the first even in ARR. Where you in 1.0 to do any of the events there?

The only thing I will say about this event is if there ISN'T a second phase of the event, then it was real easy to do and I'm ok with that. I got a lot more stuff to do in the game then hunt down an event all night. Oh and AFTER I got my swimsuits I spent an hour on the beach taking screenshots.
