I was wondering if i'd have gear up twice if I leveled both classes...Thanks!
Ummm, I dont have the best answer, but if you look at the gear on the it says which classes can use it.
My class as a LNC/DRG I can sometimes wear tank gear (not all of it, but some).

From what I've noticed, for lower levels mage gears is pretty much the same for all disciple of magic classes.
For higher levels (such as Darklight equipment) WHM and SCH do indeed share the same pieces, pretty much the only gear differences is the weapon type the two jobs uses :)

Some gear is shared with DoM. So, you could go geared with that. However, stat-wise, specialized gear will always have better stats (to my knowledge) going up to 50. And when you get to 50, you will go from AF which is job specific, to Darklight (or equivalent), which is shared between Sch and Whm, to AF2 which is back to Job specific and/or Allagan (which is shared between sch and whm).

AF and AF2 is seperate but Darklight and any other mind gear will be useable by both scholar and WHM.
