With the downfall of Amdapor Keep after the changes Castrum has taken over as the speed run king, now being the most efficient way to grind out the philo tomes for your Dark Light gear. I decided to make a vid on how to do this effectively and get your runs below 30 mins pretty easily if you have a bit of gear already. I was really surprised at just how much of the dungeon you can skip and a few other little tricks that speed things up by a lot. Best if you are in a premade party but if not you can always try to teach the others! Anyway enjoy and good luck with your Castrum runs!

Also they should really have a separate queue for people speed running and people doing it for the first time in their story mission but I guess that is another story. Plus a way to skip all cut scenes would be nice because there are a lot in this dungeon!

They increased the movement speed of mobs so you couldn't out run them, put in sleeper mobs you had to kill to open doors and made it so you had to kill off an entire floor before you can move on. No more speed running there! xD

Oh, its still a really good dungeon to run. Both types of tombs, green level 60 loot..rumor or rare drop darklight stuff....and its really easy.

CM is fun, and good philosophy tombs. but imo its just as long...lower failure rate on pugs ofc...

I would run CM after capping on mythology for the week through AK....for tomb farming ofc.

Yeah CM is much faster for philo tomes but you are better off running AK until you cap myth!

So like in a week(or less) they'll have this fixed too.

Probably xD just smash through it now before they do! Not sure why they would have all these back paths etc in the dungeon if they didn't want us to use them!

AK is still the best run for mythology tomes.

CM is fast 100 philosophy tomes, easy bosses, but more objective oriented (with the cannons, missle loaders, and anti air craft guns)

Praetorium is more boss oriented and the same # of philosophy tomes (100). Some find this one easier.

One day MMO gamers will figure out that devs don't fill dungeons full of monsters for them to play track and field and one day MMO devs will remember to put in checks to stop it.

I swear, the FIRST thing a modern MMO dev should do when testing a dungeon is try to run through it as fast as possible while killing as little as possible and doing as little as possible that way they can put themselves in the players shoes and figure out what they need to do instead of going back after the fact since, like, this happens in every game every single time.

Even in the early days of molten core guilds would stealth to raid bosses, tag them to agg them to raid then sit back and wait for the boss to lumber down the hallway in order to avoid trash. Guild Wars 2 was so bad about speed running everything and skipping as much as possible that it wasn't even fun to dungeons it felt more like Sprint Wars 2.

its really not that bad. speed is the only way to run CM. you still fight a bunch of trash. and its supposed to be a stealth mission, that's why they put sneaky paths in. it will not be "fixed"
