Free Companies and Grand CompaniesFollow

So I am being a touch lazy here, admittedly.

I was considering joining a Free Company, as my fiancee and I are likely stuck on Phoenix unless they offer a free transfer (then I'm Ultros-bound). I was fishing in Limsa Lominsa when I saw a shout come up for one. I went and checked their list on Lodestone, and it says they are a trusted member of Maelstrom, which makes sense.

Now, I haven't really looked into a GCs yet, but I recall that there was not a ton of difference in what we could access in the beta. Now that people are 50, do the GC's break down to be better for one job or another? And if I join a FC that is with one GC, does that mean that I would be unable to join a different GC? I'd assume no, but then no idea. We've not made it far enough in the story to even have GC access yet (hence why no real research). But since there are so many of you lovely people running about here, I'd love to hear what you guys have to say :D

Plus as stated being lazy, give me a break, I just did 17 levels of armorer and 9 of fishing, not to mention all the mining to level armorer. Oh and farmed and crafted leather too, only a couple levels there....

You can change GC once you are far enough through there questline. It was stated in a forum post by se on official forums.

That's true but what that means is when you're lvl 50 and have competed presumably all the story quests and are second to highest rank. So while you can change, it's best to think about which GC you would like to max out first as I want to change my GC but still can't.

The FS's are primarily a social club for chatting, and finding parties for dungeon runs, and raids.
There are some really cool/funny people in my FC. JOin one, and enjoy the added entertainment, and depth only they can provide.
