How does BC (Bahamut's Coil) party setup work?Follow

I'm still very unclear how BC works, especially its limitation.
If I go in with a party, does it mean I'm stuck with the same 8-man for the rest of the week?
1 week = 1 party? What if I want to join a different party which on a different turn/progression?
Do I have to wait weekly to change to a different 8-man members?

You are locked out for turn/progression that is lower than your own progression. E.g if you are turn 1 before Cadeceus, you are locked out from participaing Turn 1 ADS. The progression is determined by the party leader, so if you have never been in Coil and jump into a PT with the leader at Turn > 1, then your progression will be Turn > 1 and you are locked out from lower Turn than your current Turn for the week.

You are not stuck with the same party members but rather the Turn progression mechanic as outlined above.

You aren't stuck with the same 8 people. If you down Caudecus (turn 1) and then your first group disbands, you can take 7 new players to turn 2 to fight ADS.

Basically, if you kill a boss that week, you won't be fighting him again.

Thanks guys, that clears my understanding. Does that mean as soon as I step my foot in a turn it will lock me out from a lower turn regardless whether I kill the boss?
e.g.
Turn 1 incomplete. Enter turn 2 ADS, failed. Change leader and enter turn 1. --> will this work?
Turn 1 incomplete. Enter turn 2 ADS, failed. I can only change leader to enter turn 2, 3, 4 or 5 --> perhaps this?.
Basically, once you go up you can not go down, is it?

The leader who entered turn 2 to ADS will not be able to do the turn 1 with you if leader is changed. Anyone else who did turn 1 that week will also not be able to enter. It's to prevent farming certain turns.

You can go back down as long as you don't kill the boss or complete an objective on that particular turn. Then you're stuck.

Ex)

1) I haven't done coils this week. I join a party with a friend who has already done turn 1 this week.
2) We decide to do turn 2. I'm able to get into turn 2 with him as leader.
3a) We kill ADS. I am now saved to this path. I can no longer enter turn 1.
3b) We don't kill ADS. I still can enter turn 1.

Actually my LS mate got into a JP pt who down ADS turn 1 and now he's stuck at Caduceus turn 1, unable to get back to ADS turn 1. This was his first time into the coil. He also hasn't killed Caduceus.

Yes, Partial success also counts. The "objectives" on the right hand side count as lockable progress. For instance Turn 1 has three things: ADS (getting in the front door), some trash (unlocking the path to the boss), Caduceus (the boss). Clearing any 1 part of this locks you passed that one part.
