The HP is actually my work laptop, it shares the upper monitor with my main rig. For the gaming tower I have 2 650 Ti BOOSTs running.

Very nice. I decided to go and buy an HDMI cable, dragged the PC into the lounge and plugged it into the 52" TV/Amplifier. Loving it, suits my inclination to use a controller + keyboard, plus being horizontal for gathering and crafting adds a certain charm to it. Although during combat I'm pretty much hunched forward the whole time, have to watch that posture! Built in full screen windowed mode makes life a lot easier than having to work around full screen only in XI.

Funny story about my monitors. The first 27" was a gift. The 2nd and 3rd were from my brother as payment for building and deploying his business sever (as well as maintaining it for him, I also run his payroll). He gave me his CC info to buy the other two, but Best Buy was being stupid and would only allow me to put one on an order, so I just made two orders. When I went to pick up the monitors, the moron behind the counter (a real "bro", rolled sleeves, sunglasses up on his head, douchy facial hair, ******* attitude) grabbed both and scanned one, rang it up and sent me on my way. I guess he assumed they were part of the same order, so I got the 3rd for free! Smiley: laugh

What video cards are you using? I'm having issues with nvidia surround. I have 2 gtx580's in SLi and was using a usb > dvi adapter for my 4th monitor. Then I got a 1x pci-e geforce 610, as hte usb thing doesn't work all that well.

When I did that everything looked great. Then I found I couldn't move my task bar to my accessory monitor. And my right monitor lagged with a noticeable delay when I'd move. I tried a half dozen different drivers with no luck. I switched back to my usb thing and it works better now, but the top monitor isn't as clear as when it was on a real video card.

For me, space isn't the issue. It's convincing the wife why I need to spend money on 3 monitors.

Funny story. My 19 month old daughter spilled water on my desk. Quite a bit actually. I texted my wife to let her know what had happened. She asked if the damage was really bad. I thought for a few minutes and responded by saying that I needed a new computer and 3 new monitors. She thought I was serious. I should have ran with it but I just told her everything was fine.

For my fourth monitor I had to use HDMI instead of DVI. For some reason the DVI was not working, and when I looked at the set up diagram they present to you when you configure surround, it does actually show how to set up the 4th. Try running HDMI from the first card that has 2 DVIs hooked up to 2 of your surround monitors. Mine looks like this when it's configured:

Space is my issue. I'm on an Ikea desk that extends off a 4x4 grid bookshelf, which seemed like a fantastic setup at the time but now means my desk real estate only has room for two 22" monitors. Adding a third would be utterly impossible even if I magically extended my desk another foot, because that foot would go into the part of the living room where people would have to walk.

I'm not too unhappy though. While the Eyefinity setup is great, the bezels would distract me too much. I need monitors with 1mm thick bezels or something to not be annoyed by them in a split screen setup.

You'd be amazed by how quickly you adapt Smiley: laugh

Corner setups work best for space issues, if you look I don't extend that far out (less than 3' each direction) and wall mounting can save you a TON of space. Menards has pretty cheap swivel mounts ($40 or so each).

Huh? Whatever you are seeing in that picture, it isn't dust. I took that one right after I finished putting everything back after rebuilding the desk. The top of the gaming PC isn't dust, that's light diffraction from the dual fan 230mm intakes over the primary radiator. The keyboards just look like that. The razer deathstalker has this annoying rubber wrist rest that collects every piece of dust in a 40 mile radius, so not much to do there to combat it, Other than that maybe your monitor is dusty in that spot?

There's 2 computers there, one with a pair of 280 GTX's on the triple screens which is where forum admining and e-mail happens. Not that I really needed 2 of them except for the ports, but they are what came out of the gaming pc before it got upgraded to a pair of 3gb 580 GTX's. THe plan is to eventually upgrade to a pair of 780s, but I haven't got that far yet.

A bit of an older picture. My setup is on the left with one 27" monitor. Wife has one 23" monitor now as opposed to the two 19" monitors.

Very cool setup... Inspiring almost!

I think you may have just inspired me...

Bezels have become thinner and thinner, making these multi-monitor stretches more viable than ever.

Sadly my current motherboard doesn't support SLi, and I don't think any single card supports 3 screens... but I am inspired... and I have the means... so one day... I might mention you in the credits when I post my own awesome setup :)

What are they mounted on?

Unfortunately I have 5 series monitors, the 6 series is hte first to allow you to use the 4th port on the card for an accessory monitor. Because of that I had to use a seperate video card.

My center mount is made of steel pipe, the upper monitor is on one of those $40 menards swivel arms, the sides are mounted on 2x4's on the walls with the 4" side pointing out and using a french cleat to hold them on. The french cleat system is nice because they sturdy yet I can pull one off without needing any tools if I need to get back there.

Nice. I didn't want to mount anything to the wall, as I'm in the process of building a new office now. My top monitor is heavy, about 40lbs. The other 3 are about half the wieght of the top one as they're newer, so I wanted something sturdy.

Wint is using nvidia 650's.

I'm using gtx580's at 1920x1200 on high settings and I'm pulling 40-50fps.

Interesting.

I was thinking of trying this with my single HD7950, but it looks like i'd have to drop the quality quite a bit to make it playable.

Which is almost certainly due to CPU bottleneck.

Maybe I will have to try it out. Unfortunately, I'll need to purchase an active DisplayPort -> DVI adapter first.
