So, I'm back in DF doing early dungeons because a friend joined on another server. Waiting for DF can be a pain and I could think of many other activities I could do while in q.

That being said, would it be possible to send a notification to your smart phone or tablet when you have been accepted into a dungeon via DF?

PS. I miss being able to go /sea all and , well, see how any ppl are online at a given time.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

We have that XIV App thing now to atleast set custom sounds for certain events happening, i imagine a DF being ready is one of them. At the very least you can turn up your sound with something that will catch your attention while you do something else.

The /sea all however got wrecked out of the game around 1.0, most likely because terrible subscription numbers and people didnt want to see there suddenly being only 250 people total on their server. 200 is the max displayed, and there's no longer any notification of "found 5000 members, capped displayed list to 200". I dont think SE really wants to see this return all too soon.

/sea all, playtime logged in, and /anon are 3 things that were interesting - and unique to FFXI as far as I know from my MMO experience, correct me if I'm wrong. When I logged in each day, /sea all and checking my friends list were like the first things I always did. Its a social psychology thing I guess, being able to see all the people logged in and feel like you're part of that world. Its also very disheartening to see very small populations, as you'll notice if you check out the FFXI forums right now. I remember the days of 3000+ being usual, and weekends occassionally topping 4000+ online, and if I played XI still and searched and saw 500, yea I'd be sad. Thats probably why they removed it.

One they they could do is when you're alt-tabbed out of the game, they could make the game icon on your taskbar start flashing when the duty window pops up.

They did this in Rift. While waiting for a dungeon I would alt-tab out and do other stuff on my computer. The game icon would start flashing whenever the dungeon was ready or whenever someone sent me a tell.
