I notice that every player I have problems with in dungeons are from WoW. When I use Arcanist, I dps and heal at the same time. I get yelled at for healing any time it’s this type of player trying to speed through a Duty Finder. Which I find nuts, you do not know the people. I had one dungeon where the healer said they would DPS only. I had a tank screaming at me to DPS only when the healer was not healing.

I said to myself fine I will DPS only after they wiped. He started to fuss why are not healing. I know you can heal, you did it before. You just told me before to DPS only, you’re not even noticing the healer with full MP? I notice she did not even nuke either. She was just following and just sitting until everything was over. One mistake I think this game made. Putting weapon skills as a spam able instead of steady build. I have seen dragoon’s and monk’s spam when you can see the Tank does not have the gear. I notice they do not pay attention to the whole group.

They made the game hard and easy at the same time. It lets players play stupid and they blame someone else. The other game might have been harder. It made it that you could spot out the bad player in the group. They could get removed if they kept doing what they would do. Most seem frustrated when things go to smooth in a run. I notice most do not get, a tank is not a DPS. They are not supposed to out damage every DPS in their group. They hold hate from you getting killed.

A DPS should know not to spam heavy damage moves. If you get killed it’s because of your own doing. I notice black mages and others spamming none stop. When I see it, are you nuts? Do not spam unless you know how to crowd control and stop the mobs from killing you. This weekend gave me a whole new respect for the tanks and healers that deal with crazy players.
If they drop a party and they know the outcome. I feel you should have the right to drop it if they do not listen.

First time I have done tons of Dungeons and I have had to support heavy with back up healing. DPS running ahead of the tank in front of groups of mobs. The tank did not spam flash I would not have died. How would the tank spam flash when flash does not have long range? You’re so far ahead of the group none of us can heal you. The tank puts up the order of kills and you still run off to something else.

I think it's safe to say everyone died because instead of killing all the adds that were tearing apart your group, you left them all alive to continue to wail on your party while you were just healing for a bit. As an arcanist, you're basicly taking up the slot of a DPS job. If you already have a healer, dont concern yourself with their duties and just do as much damage as you can. It's not exactly a powerhouse class to begin with, so to further gimp your party's damage output by resorting to healing is a bad thing. One healer is more than enough, and if not, should be replaced with someone who is capable.

The sooner something dies, the quicker it's out of your hair. That is why damage dealers use the heaviest moves they got. Are they taking a risk tearing hate off the tank with it and/or dying themselves? Sure. But everyone has their enmity bar. They know, or should know, just how far they can go. Riding the line is just a way of maximizing efficiency. MP fills up near instantly after a battle anyhow, there's no shame in letting your healers take a little of that MP towards curing you too. If a group doesnt push my hate keeping to the limit, or sometimes even breaks it, i cant feel like we're giving it all we've got.

Still, it seemed you had a bad tank, a bad healer and bad DPS. You simply lucked out.

The game is fine. Nothing needs to be changed. Just make sure you get a good tank next time, a good healer and a good DPS class and everything else is irrelevant.

Light orange text on white background is an awful reading experience.

It's fine and encouraged for DPS to spam abilities on trash mobs, especially the ones the tank has marked. The sooner the trash dies, the faster we can move on. As long as they're spamming on the primary target, its okay if they take one or two hits because the mob is going to die anyway.

Hate management from DPS really only comes into play on boss fights, and when there are adds on the boss fights, the DPS should go kill them which should give the tank a moment to re-establish hate on the boss. XIV's game was designed from the ground up with that principal in mind: You must kill the adds when they spawn, even if it means slowing down damage on the boss. Every single little micro fight in the storyline operates on that principal. NPCs even tell you that they want you to focus your efforts on one trash mob at a time.

What?!?! Are you serious?!?!
So when you get into a dungeon group, the first question you ask is "so, did you guys play WoW?"
Where as you may have had an issue with someone, at sometime, who may have played WoW at some point, to generalize that 'every' player you've had problems with is from WoW is absurd. Or better yet, if you're having problem with a plethora of players then perhaps you're the cause of the issue for NOT playing WoW. Unless of course you did play WoW, in which case, you would just part of the problem you're complaining about.

Frankly, your one anecdotal example makes it sounds like a group that wasn't cohesive. That happens, however, nowhere in your story do you provide any evidence that the group was composed of former WoW players.

Furthermore, you should keep in mind that most WoW players have also played a myriad of other MMO's and odds are that most players on FFXIV also have experience in other MMO's.

That is the whole point. Duty Finder means I am not supposed to do the others roles. The one healer we had refused to heal and claimed she was DPS only even though she came in as healer. The DPS were not attacking trash mobs. They went for main mobs, the monks I have had this weekend went for bosses. Before the tank made a move to tell us what they wanted us to do. Same with dragoon’s doing it and they do so much damage the tanks cannot get hate.

Yay, not only is she a moronic poster, she posts in colour. Fantastic.

Edit:

Wait, let me respond in kind.

All posters who use colour in their posts are morons. Because this one does, it must be true for all of them.

You guys don't use the dark (black/grey) background?

Regardless, the color is annoying, but at least on a dark background it's not harsh.

I use the XIV color scheme, which is white background with black text normally.

The red on white text is pretty bleargh. Reminds me of Geocities circa 1997,
