promotion in GCFollow

I am level 50 dragoon, just started the relic quest (beaten only chimera so far)
I got the promotion in GC (twin addler) because I was looking for the lvl 50 lance they sell on your promotion (second lieutenant or something like this ... I do not remember exactly).
Now I could buy the lance but in the meantime I got a HQ champions lance that does the same damage; so I think that there is no reason to buy this GC weapon.
I am just wondering if there are some other promotions: for the moment they say that there are not promotion but in the window with the objects that you can buy I see other three slots that are greyed for me at the moment.
I mean: have I to do some other things to get further promotion ? what kind of objects/weapons I could have ?
Until now I did not buy any single things because also the other gear seems to be less of mine (artifact + few dropped from WP or AK + few bought with phil. tomes).
thank you for answer/advises

Probably implemented at a later time, but nothing as been mentioned for them. Judging from the steady increase in levels on the gear in the other categories, we wont be seeing a 4th or 5th till the first level cap increases... But that's pretty much a death sentence for an MMO this young in itself... Besides, there's no real need for more or better bought weapons when we have up to ilvl90 available already.

If you got a similar or better weapon, then dont worry about the GC weapons. They are pretty much the best easily obtained weapons in the category pre-primal, outside of the ilvl70 crafted weapons, or the HQ from the lv50 Green synth. Just a nice free alternative for those people who completed the dungeon and GC quests/log.

You shouldnt worry about it too much. GC items are great before you hit level 50, usually excellent free alternatives with superior stats. At 50, not so much anymore.

If you really have seals to spare, buy the EXP scrolls for either Crafting or Gathering. Those should get you going pretty well.

My guess is that those other three greyed out spots are for PvP stuffs.

Just a guess :)

You'll probably want to get the GC weapon anyway, because you'll be turning in your pre-relic soon (and thus will lose access to it).

This is assuming of course that a Champion's Lance is your pre-relic. I'm not sure what the pre-relic is for DRG, but I do know that I used the same logic as you did on my WAR. I used my HQ pre-relic weapon until I absolutely had to turn it in, and that's when I bought the GC weapon, which held me over until I got my Ifrit axe.

Personally I would keep my GC credits for crafting and gathering XP scrolls and items like Chocobo barding. An NQ Barbarian's Bardiche on Excalibur is about 2-3k, and NQ Composite Bow about 4k, or alternatively find a crafter to make you one (I can't remember what a Champions Lance is going for). I have several Bloody Bow, Lance and Bardiche heads on me. If (like me) you find a crafter that looks through all his available leves each day to see if any reward the weapon/armour parts it's really not hard to get the synth done (and you could probably get some materia inserted as well as a bonus).

EDIT: I'd also add that there will soon be furniture items you can buy with GC seals too.
