I'm planning on leveling miner, but according to what I have seen, I just don't like the way they farm. Do they have to keep teleporting to new areas based on in-game time? I know you can only get gold ore, dark steel ore, etc only during specific time, that's why in asking this. Thanks in advance :)

Only the unspoiled mining nodes like Gold and Darksteel have spawn times. Normal nodes spawn constantly.

But, those items are what farming is worth for, right?

Those aren't the only items worth farming. There are certain other items that may be worth farming based on your servers economy. Of course you can always farm shards and crystals. Those always sell quick and for a good price.

Darksteel and Gold Ore are the main ingredients required for T1 items, but you can make money at every tier of mining. In fact, raw materials are your most consistent sales (ores, stones (especially Siltstone and Basilisk Eggs for instance)). Every time you open a new level to your mining log take a look at the MW on your server and judge what is best to level off from a) cost per item and b) speed of sale.

I'll go one further and give you another tip. Most people level off triple leves, and each ingot requires 3 ores, so sell your ores in stacks of 33 (3×9 plus 6 in case you break a couple of synths) rather than 99. You can even push the price a little higher and they'll still sell faster than those stacks of 99 that are up on sale.

You are a blessing, I am so happy I feel like about to cry. I have been looking so hard for information on how to get Crystal Clusters.

On my server darksteel goes for around 1.2k and gold about 600ish gil. Not a whole lot for nodes that pop only once a game day.

I've found it so much more lucrative to mine the ingredients for steel ingots. Also, crystals and shards.

I'm a 50 Miner, and the gold ores are worth more than the darksteel on my server...

Believe it or not, HQ Wyvern Obsidian is selling for as much as Gold ores! 450g each!

I know this because I'm leveling Carpenter and need those to make the Walnut Machuitl's (SP?) for levequests. So I just go farm them up myself, I'm about at the point where I don't need the HQ ones for that recipe, but I will still farm them to sell at that price! lol

You can make a living just supplying ores, silver ores are going for about 70 each on Ultros for NQ... Bomb Ash sells quick and good too... pretty much at every turn you can make gil as a miner...

Here, bookmark this page, you'll love it!

I should have played on a new server. Hyperion, everything is cheap. Easily farmable to sell is Cobalts, which sell at 90 normal 150 HQ. Darksteel sell at 100 each. Gold ore is 95.

Oh, the woes of legacy.

I've been finding the mid range materials to be the best selling as the market is swamped at the high and low ends. As mentioned above, selling in stacks of usefulness vs everything at 99 nets quicker sales and sometimes slightly higher prices.
