DPS rotationsFollow

Does anyone happen to know of a good page to see dps rotations? I saw one a while ago and modeled mine after it with a change or two, but would like to do a little more research into it to see if I can step it up a notch.

I'm a DRG, specifically.

That's complicated... 27 skills in the rotation... I heard it can be broken down into several segments, does anyone have any tips on macroing these segments to save button space and make this a little simpler?

It looks very complicated at first. If you look close, you will find a picture that guy made. (link.) . He calls it "flow diagram": Thats a really good, and easy to understand picture to show you the rotation. 3 macros.

Here, let me save you some complication:

This is standard attack rotation with empasis on keeping your Heavy Thrust, DoTs, and Disembowel buffs going.

A simpler, easier to understand flow chart is as follows.

It only gets complicated when you begin to min-max your buff duration over the long term, and you're primarily going to learn that with experience, and having optimal is rare due to the amount of dodging and maneuvering you will do.

Keep in mind that these rotations ignore Jumps due to their impact on DPS at Melee Range, but if you've got a gap to close and a Spineshatter Dive or Dragonfire Dive in AoE situations up? Use it to close gap.

AoE rotations, Doomspike as the highest DPS, but burns out quickly. Heavy Thrust to Ring of Thorns has the lower DPS, but can be sustained twice as long and is circular rather than line. Use that at your own discretion.

Oh, and a small tip, in situations in which there are multiple mobs and you're suffering/have suffered damage, save your Bloodbath for when you use your AoE skills, Doomspike in particular gives great returns and can cause you to heal immense amounts depending on the number of targets you strike.

Anyways, hope that helps.

I personally can't stand using macros on my DRG. For me, it's too reactionary with all the dodging and moving around to be effective. Combined with macros rounding your GCD to the nearest second, it's not as precise as I'd like it to be. Adding a few tenths of a second between 27 moves adds up. I just keybind everything and call it a day.

Thanks Maudib for the link. It was fairly close to what I was doing, but I need to try doing my DoT's before my combos. Hopefully it bumps everything up a bit!

Macros
Combo 1 Heavy Thrust > Fracture > Phlebotomize
Combo 2 Impulse Drive > Disembowel > Chaos Thrust
Combo 3 True Thrust > Vorpal Thrust > Full Thrust
Combo 4 Heavy Thrust > Ring of Thorns

Ideal Rotation
Combo 1 Heavy Thrust > Fracture > Phlebotomize
Combo 2 Impulse Drive > Disembowel > Chaos Thrust
Combo 3 True Thrust > Vorpal Thrust > Full Thrust
Combo 1 Heavy Thrust > Fracture > Phlebotomize
Combo 3 True Thrust > Vorpal Thrust > Full Thrust
Combo 2 Impulse Drive > Disembowel > Chaos Thrust
Combo 3 True Thrust > Vorpal Thrust > Full Thrust
Combo 3 True Thrust > Vorpal Thrust > Full Thrust
Repeat Rotation

Those are the ones on the GCD
in between I go on a rotation of

Internal release
Blood for Blood
Leg Sweep
Power Surge
Jump
Life Surge (before a FT)
Leg Sweep
Leg Sweep
Jump
Leg Sweep

Which is basically what the Drg A rotation reborn thread tells you to do.

Depending on where I am and what Im fighting I will add in the stun jump and dragonfire dive aswell. if the situation is ok for it

What's a DPS is it just a game damage term? I first saw this when the Satasha menu listed my Arcanist as a DPS. The game story stopped for me there, it's been Fates,1.0 achievements and any quest that don't use duty finder till my 3 months are up.

DPS means "damage per second". You will also see people call them DD, or "damage dealer".

DPS means Damage Per Second.

It's used in this context as the role you're filling. So, DPS means you're role is to do damage to the mob. As of today, there are 3 roles, DPS, Tank, Healer.

:)
