Funny how wowtards feel the need to voice how challenging this game is for them, makes me ROFL every time, seriously go make a fart emote with your "Toon" there and have your epic reward, because that's how challenging wow is, kthanxbye.

On a side note jewelry equiping does not work for me, only the choker ( /equip neck "Brass Choker"), tried L.ear and Left Ear and none works. Any clue yet or was it fixed?

I'm fairly certain you are mistaken about people complaining about the game being "challenging."

A game can be challenging and still be good. The challenge must come from playing the game, however; fighting monsters, accomplishing goals, gathering others for large scale events. If these things are a challenge because you have to think or have good reflexes or something relating to the player's abilities that's fine.

A miserable UI that takes 3-5 button presses to accomplish what any other MMO could do in a single key or click? Monsters that wander off randomly in mid combat for no good reason and regen large chunks of hp? Crafting that puts you to sleep in spite of being touted as a major element of the game on par with combat classes? Ridiculous lag time when doing anything at all with your inventory? You can call these challenges while others would call them needless exercises in frustration.

You may enjoy FFXIV, and that's fine. You cannot, however, argue that the opinion of people who play WoW is unfounded. It is very quickly apparent that the very framework of XIV is severely lacking and has managed to fail to implement even the most basic of elements that people have come to expect from modern MMOs. I would advise against referring to detractors as any form of "tards" while you're busy playing month 2 of your free "please baby one more chance" trial.

Maybe you'll get lucky and the patch later this month will fix the long, long list of problems with this game. I'd be all for that. Only time will tell. In the meantime, enjoy your fully unfounded ROFLing.

I'm having the same issues with equipping jewelry. It's been like this since beta.. really, i dont understand why its taking them so long to fix such small errors.

and to implement the inventory sort feature at that.

Also regarding macros - why cant i just click on a macro and delete it? or move it around? Having to copy and paste every line is redundand and ridiculous.

I love the macro system - i just wish they would use some freaking common sense. Make it player friendly square, cmon.

I can't believe that I was so excited about this title that I rushed out and bought it on day 1. If I could get a refund I would take a restocking fee. This game sucks in a major way. I am still trying to find any redeeming quality with FF XIV but I just can't. I guess I will keep an eye on the forums for updates and hopefully in 6 months or so it will at least have enough polish to actually be able to enjoy the experience(I doubt it will happen). In the meantime I go back to WoW and relish in a game that actually works. I actually do aggree that the graphics are impressive but it just takes me back to the "lipstick on a pig" analogy. Anyways FFXIV fanboys enjoy the ride because I can't stand another minute of it.

dont complain about the game in this discussion, this is for macros, if you feel the game isnt for you, we are better off without you. Go back to an easy mmo like wow, or go post how much you hate things in general discussion.

anyways, anyone have a macro to invite people that you cant see in a different zone or area? or do you have to be in the same area?

Unequip

I think it should be noted here the macro on how to un-equip items. This would be useful in the event you have a cowl and want to put on goggles for crafting, for example.

Since /unequip does not work, all you need to do is list the location you want to be removed and leave the item blank, like:

/equip body ""
/equip head "Garland Goggles"
I can't believe How crappy it all is

Auto Follow
# Oct 06 2010 at 1:07 PM Rating: Decent
Instead of taking up a whole Macro with auto follow as was suggested, you can just hit "C" to lockon to your target and then "R" to auto run. This will accomplish the same thing without having to type it out. :)
offhand

I've been using /equip sub "Bronze Sledgehammer" for offhand and it's working.

Not sure if anyone has pointed this out or if it has been fixed yet. As of about a week ago the left and right equip macros (example: left ear as l.ear) were not working. To equip items in these slots you have to change the macro from /equip l.ear "Copper Earring" to /equip "Left Ear" "Copper Earring".

Yea just using /equip off "Bronze Sledgehammer" works as well, if you get tired of typing quotes lol. I also have never got /equip sub to work with anything...

Odd, because while I can use "/equip sub", it won't allow me to use "/equip off". I confess I haven't tried it with quotes like the previous poster suggested.

The reason I say it's odd is because even the in-game help (/? equip) tells you it's 'off' for off-hand, yet it doesn't work for me. Is it a regional difference from buying the boxed EU game or something? Or just a bug?

Well, it's pretty weird either way.
