Still dislike quest markers...

Unfortunately, I strongly dislike quest markers. Sure, call it beating my head with a hammer, but I enjoy "asking around to find an NPC." Now, on the other hand, if the NPC is motioning for me, this "humble adventurer", to come over to speak to me, that'd be a different story. But knowing the game, they'll still be standing there in their usual poses doing nothing out of the ordinary. Hence, lack of immersion.

This update will be followed by others like it, so to say that you /quit from the icons to identify the quest npc's is very short-sided of you. yoshi-p is in on it and will make the game better but it will still take time. funny, but i always thought that in order to play a FF game you had to have some patience.

I stopped reading when I saw they're adding Yellow Question marks.. Won't be coming back to 14.. 11 is so much better i'll just stick with that.

I can't see much use for MP auto-refresh, I've not run out before on either CON or THM.
I have no party experience so maybe it's addition here will be better used.
The highlight is obviously the quests though, lets hope they have legitimate depth.

Retainer system improvements
¤ Ability to summon retainers currently operating a bazaar

Wonder if this means we can call them from anywhere. If so what will we be able to do with them. If we can store items without going back to the cities that would be fabulous.

I'm pretty sure it means you can summon your retainer from a different city if they are bazaar'ing in a separate city. (i.e. if you're retainer is selling items in the Battlecraft Ward of Ul'dah you can summon them to Limsa Lominsa's retainer bell and/or market wards)
All of it looks good to me...

...and I'm sure this game is going to be outstanding in the not so distant future. Every patch so far has been well planned and worthy of the downtime to download/install it. Keep it up!
Love it

Its kind of hard to be hatin' on this patch when it feels like it will change the game so much.

That said would still like some birds, sick of running, or fixing my wifes ANIMA so it actually regens....

But I am looking forward too it, since the last patch was very lame.

Come guys, this is the same team that did the questing for ffxi thats working on this. I would think, you would think, it would be a lot more deeper than say, eg. "Go to B4 and get my back pack." This is the 1st step, of many, of this game feeling and looking different. And like I just said to my LS, in game, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave us a quest arc to gain access to chocobo mounts.

So? They are doing major improvements and you're complaining about anima rates? LOL That's hardly relevant since: 1. there's not much content in the game anyway for you to be traveling around often and 2. you can easily get a port from a party member as most of the leves are done in groups. Stop complaining and be grateful that there are upcoming changes that are obviously making big improvements to the game. I'm sure anima regeneration is in there soon enough, especially with more content being added to the game.
A step forward

Hopefully they don't overdo the auto-mp regen stat. Or at least allow it to act only outside of battle. If that happens EVERYONE will be playing a spellcaster :P Im looking forward to this update though.

What do you call story/world quest? As one of the people who have been veary loud about the lack of content in this game I am starting to feel veary excited. This is what we all where shouting for. Why would you make a BS post like that? It looks to me that they are finaly going to pull FFXIV out of the dark ages.

World quests? There's no world...it's just 3 cities and a lot of open space.

I really hope this isn't what we'll get, though considering this is exactly how practically all MMOs since WoW have done it, I wouldn't hold my breath.
