After months of waiting, the latest gigantic update to Final Fantasy XIV is upon us. A new job system, additional instanced raids, chocobo armor and an ominous fiery orb in the sky are among the slew of changes introduced by Patch 1.21. With numerous system changes, more quests and a complete overhaul of foods and medicines, this patch addresses various needs and contains something for everyone.

In a recent interview with Massively, FFXIV producer Naoki Yoshida said there are two more large patches scheduled to be implemented before the game's relaunch at Version 2.0. The long-awaited hamlet defense battles are among the features scheduled to be added in the course of these remaining updates.
