what a pain at 120.. After 4 tries this is the only thing that worked for me
Had to fight hand to hand to reduce HP without killing to fast even with hand to hand he dropped to 24% very quick
I equipped each axe one by one while I was faced away from mob while ducking so i would not counterattack at all
each axe would break after a shot amount of time
once all 4 done kill and head out

I was worried about missing the emotes for the axes failing this test. I don't know if it's always been this way, but in era on Mischief TLP each axe pops onto your cursor once it breaks, so it's really clear when to swap them out.
The mana drain is a PITA did it in era with 10 characters all GoD/OOW geared, lost the SK at the end due to no mana left in group and finished the fight with a Pally LoH tanking it.

From the start of fight to the final axe emote, switching axes quickly, was 2:43 - It didn't take long to get it below 75%, so expect more than 30 seconds per axe before your emote. His 'A Sebilite Guardian' adds had 150k HP each.

Spawn didn't happen immediately for us. We didn't get him to spawn until the room started respawning the first time.

Because there seems to be a lot of how to avoid decap, but not a lot of in-Era info, posting an update.

We attempted and completed this with 3 groups of mostly level 70 people, raid geared (discord/pop gear). If you do not have maxed (or close) resists you're gonna have problems with keeping people alive because of the mana drain component of the AOE. Our bard group was fine, other 2 groups were getting hit a lot by the AoE which quickly destroyed the healer mana pools. With maxed resists the aoe did not land on me the entire fight.

The aoe is curable with RGC and healers should cleanse themselves asap if they get hit.

We brought the ASP down to 75, and started getting axe updates with the 3 berserkers we brought. Adds were targetable around 50%? A little unsure on the exact number. We then killed the adds and then back onto main boss for the kill.

important notes that were unclear based on all the information going around:
1. At the least, the berserkers must be alive at the end of the fight. 2 of 3 died during the fight and were not alive at the end and did NOT get the final testing message about going back to speak to McArik. (although they did receive the 4 axe messages). Both of them attempted turn in and were handed the axes back. The 3rd berserker did not die and got the epic completed. I am not sure if rezzing the berserkers and having them alive at the end would have helped or not.

2. We killed the adds before killing ASP and this is confirmed to work properly. I do not know if ASP can be killed first, and multiple sources said multiple things. It would have been much easier to burn ASP first and then do the adds, and We will test this later.

The adds cast the mana drain, as Saraban noted further down in the comments.

If you're having issues as a higher level berserker due to having decap AA, here's how I did it at level 100.

Turn off auto skill frenzy.
Keep your back to the ASP at all times.
ONLY use your Volley skill to do damage to it.
Take it down below 75% while having the quest axes equipped and auto attack on
Once you get the quest text, the other 2 un-targetable mobs will heal the ASP back up to 75%.
Rotate through all 4 axes and get quest text for all 4
Continue to damage ASP only using Volley, and take it to below 25%
At this point the two other juggs become targetable. I killed them FIRST (unsure if this matters, but previous postings seemed to indicate it was.)
I then killed the ASP.

Location of -1555, -166 is correct. But add in an elevation level of -175. So forget about the locked door on the upper level. Take the lower altitude water route to the Ancient Sebilite Protector

The location from the main epic quest thread of -1555, -166 is spot on. By way of description this is just past the locked door that you have to click on the flower pot to open but before the illusion wall.

Requirements:
1) You MUST be at this point in your epic (Should be obvious).
2) You MUST be in a raid (you can do with this as few as 2 people, and the 2nd person doesn't even technically have to be in zone, but it does preclude you from having a healer merc).

Helpful:
1) Do not have decap AA. If you do I suggest trying to see if you can get the triggers using only frenzy as I believe (am not certain) decap will not trigger on frenzy.
2) Tank who can hold aggro while doing minimal damage.

The Fight:
-Once you kill the juggs (seb golems) in the room at the given location this guy spawns. I advise clearing the side rooms of their frogs prior to killing the last as the walls seemed to stop the AE and this is a good place for a healer. Having said that I needed little healing on a 100 SK.
-***IMPORTANT*** The axes will not "break"/trigger until and unless he is at 75% health and below.
-As a result you want to DPS down to 75% and then pull all DPS off (with the healers in the side room) until you cycle through all 4 axes.
-Once you are done with the axes bring DPS back in and burn him down. A chest will spawn wherever the berserker is standing.
-You may get respawns while testing axes but your DPS should be able to mop it up easily.

Recent patch changed things a bit:

- Berserker - Decapitation can now trigger off of Frenzy skill button presses.

So using just frenzy for testing to avoid decap procs will no longer work. You basically just need to not have the AA when you do this.

Must be in a raid to spawn The ancient Sebelite Protector. Another beserker seemed to bug his spawn because he wasn't in a raid and he had to wait an hour for the timer to reset.

When you kill all the the golems the the ancient sebelite protector will spawn in 15 to 30 seconds.

First first attempt was with a group of 75+, nothing above lvl 80, which was heavy on casters class because everyone believed epic fights are caster friendly. His curse ate up all the casters mana supplies and we all wiped. I got my 4 axes tested in this duration of time. I did get rampaged on, and I did get killed a few times.

Second attempt 2 hours later was with a group heavy in melee.classes. This time when the protector spawned, I stepped back and threw axes at him for most of the fight. I never got rampaged or hit once. I didn't have to test the axes again because they were tested in my first attempt.

Say you reach 100, and you decide hey I haven't done my 1.5/2.0 yet I better go do these. DO NOT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD BUY DECAPINATION! Yes you can decap this mob, no you do not get axe credit when you do this. Long story short its a bad bad bad bad bad bad bad idea to buy decap and then try and do this quest. I am currently waitng to see if a GM will be kind enough to remove my decap so I can finish my 1.5.

In order to make this mob spawn, you MUST form a raid of at least 5 people (yourself and 4 others). Once you do this and after you've killed the 4 static Juggernauts, the Ancient Sebilite Protector will spawn...

you enter the room by clicking on the firepot by the door and get out with the help of an illusion-- click off the illusion while pushing your nose into the door and you will go out and it will open for the rest of your group.

With him conning dark blue to my 78 berserker, my main focus was on keeping berserker healed. The responses i got amazed me when i asked on general chat when i asked for a healer to help me. It is an irritation to get responses, from people who don't bother to even read the epic, of "oh, i can solo that, i'll come kill him for you". and "Old Seb? of course you can use a merc. just bring one up."

after talking to one guy for several minutes and patiently trying to explain it to him, i finally said, "you really don't understand anything so please don't come out and ruin my epic."

too many people think they should come rescue you when all you ask for is a little help staying alive through the long fight. If they would bother to read each epic before offering that, they would realize that people doing epics don't need rescuing. If they did, why bother with the epic?

As of June 14, 2009 this fight is still bugged. I'm using my 65 berserker, have all 4 trial axes. I brought 3 people, level 85 in raid to kill this guy

First time, all axes got emotes, then mob died. I died twice through fight. No chest, no emote at end of fight.

Second time, same thing, except I didnt die. Still no emote at end.

sent petition to sony, along with my eqlog. Good luck guys, hope you get your epic.

75Pal, 75Clr, 74Clr (bot), 75Mag + gimp 65 (afk) zerkbot.
Pal & Cleric Ang-DP geared. Mage was mostly DP/DK.
Clr-bot was a hodgepodge of Tacvi, DoN dragons + DoDh group gear/augs.


Heals were the win. Bot went OOM a few minutes into the fight, due to low resists (mid-300s). Switched to Vow of Valor and AFK-dps at that point. Mage had great difficulty landing spells. reverted to pet and chain-DS the tank for dps. Cleric just did his thing, heals were non-strenuous-- Clr reached 50m when ASP was at 32%. Pal was still at 95% from WoT heals + cleric).

Our only problem we had was the zerk dying to AEs. He never engaged in the fight, but continually got ate by the AEs. Tried rezzing him in several times, only to insta-death on the next AE. Eventually gor rezzed in, just before the ASP died, however, no emote or credit was given. Had enough mana left to burn the adds (who seemed to spam dispell alot more once they engaged). No 2.0 chest, no red emote, no credit for the kills (though by screenshot & logfile, the Zerk was back up before the boss died, though he was unconscious).

Imo, this is borked. MPG trials still give credit to dead folks in hover-mode, post-rez. Pal 1.5 allowed the pal to loot the corpse even if he died during the fight. Oh well. Guess I get to do this one again :)


*edit- ASP was whitecon at 75 and had some knockback that ate through Infusion of the Faithful. Pally was 13.5, 3.4k unbuffed, maxxed shield + avoid.

So.. yeah :)
Went back w/7 + afk zerkbot. Owned the ASP. Group was all Ang-DP geared: 75PAL, 75WIZ, 75RNG, 75SHM, 75DRU + 75BST-bot + 74CLR-bot. Formed raid and buffed outside of ASP room. Red emote and ASP spawned inside. Kept CLR-bot + zerk outside, behind walls to try and avoid AE. Cleric tried to keep zerker alive thru AE's, while the other 5 went to work on the ASP.

Burn went quick. Zerk died again near 30%, and again immediately once rezzed. Time to get sneaky-- had cleric send rez, while group stopped DPS at 09%. Zerker took rez, and immediately popped target DA on zerk. Grp full burned 09-00% in a few seconds. mob died, zerk got emote, & chest spawned at the zerkers feet, aways off from the ASP + guardians lol! Strange thing... seemed as though the AE was hate-list based and included the zerk no matter what. He never entered the room, but still got owned thru walls by the AE.


*note- All 4 axes were already broken from 2nd attempt. Tried turning in the goods to Keras after killing ASP on 3rd try (w/o red emote), but hidden flag prevented him from taking the broken axes. Even tried sneakin the (non-broken) axe to Teekan in Abysmal...she was non-compliant. If you break your axes but die/hoveer on ASP kill, just have to suck it up and try again on repop. Very much a one-grp affair for anyone in Anguish+ gear. Make sure your resists are in the 450-500+ range to avoid the AEs. GL crazy zerkers :)

Even when aggroed the mob can still despawn. We were doing a pickup raid for this mob but some of us weren't informed of the full details yet when some of us went to kill trash mob as we tried to set a camp. This ancient mob popped unexpectedly and just showed why some 1.5 mobs aren't meant to be solo'ed. I went down in just for hard slaps.

The raid tried to reform quickly, pulled the corpses away to a safe spot and rezzed. Unfortunately for the zerker, the mob despawned before we could be ready.

It is on timer so make sure to warn your raid in advance not to go in that room until everyone's present and ready.

If you try this with a single group, ensure the group is in raid formation. If you are not in a raid, the ASP will not spawn.

After ASP no-showed for me twice and I endured many arguments with GMs, a friend of mine got the ASP to spawn with 6 peeps once they were in raid form. He is groupable with the right peeps, but be in raid formation or he won't show up for you.

EDIT: By the way if u hide ur casters behind the wall where the frogs spawn the AEs won't hit them. Just got this done last nite, hiding there worked a treat

Yep, went through a trial spawnage. Just takes raid formation (minimum of 2 ppl in a raid) and the berserker there and the last golem in the room to die (I did it with a roamer, not one of the statics).

Ok so what happens if zerker dies and is not in zone for the message? it just happen to me and now i got 4 boken axes and nothing i can do with them?
