Battle Notes

The Promyvion ENMs, capped at level 30, basically mirror the Promyvion Missions for Chains of Promathia. You make your way to the Spire of each Promyvion, then fight a weaker version of the boss you fight in the actual Promyvion Missions. The reward is 18,000 experience divided by the number of people in your party, with a maximum experience gain of 3,000 per person. Winning also gives the party three memory clusters (which are used in Alchemy), and the chance to get rare earrings that give +3 on various stats.

You can enter "You Are What You Eat" and the other Promyvion ENMs with up to an entire alliance, but the experience points reward for doing so would be reduced to 1,000 per person. Each Promyvion ENM is winnable with a balanced party of six. Parties of seven or eight virtually ensure victory.

To start the ENM "You Are What You Eat," you must first talk to Venessa in Ru'Lude Gardens and acquire a key item: Censer of Antipathy. Everyone in your party must have this because you can't fight the ENM boss without it. Make sure everyone has proper foods and medication, Reraise items, and Signet.

It is recommended to bring at least one anima to this fight, to use in case of an emergency.

Strategies

When everyone in your party is ready, enter Promyvion - Dem and work your way up to the Spire of Dem. When you are ready, click on the door inside the Spire and choose the battle You Are What You Eat. You have 30 minutes to defeat the boss, which is an empty NM named Ingester.

The Ingester uses a move that absorbs hit points from party members, and it also spawns Wanderers during the fight. You only need to defeat the main mob to win.

This is the easiest of the three promy ENM bosses. To win, simply:

  • Tank it straight-up
  • Use an anima when the mob is at about 25 percent health if people are getting low on hit points
  • Have someone ready to provoke Wanderers

Note: If anyone dies during the fight, DO NOT TOUCH THE REWARD SPHERE THAT APPEARS AFTER THE BOSS DIES UNTIL EVERYONE IS RAISED. People who are still dead when the sphere is touched will not receive their exp reward.

has there been any chnages to the ENM recently? just did this today and the mob was way stronger then normal. he usually summons just the wanderer, but summoned one of his babies which i haven't seen him do before. he was one shotting pets as well
Couple questions....
# Jan 16 2008 at 2:39 PM Rating: Default
In other posts it says it is repeatable every 5 days, is that 5 in-game days or is it 5 RL days?

Next question:
Does anyone have any clue what the drop rates for the visions are like?

<EDIT>
And to answer my own question, it's 5 RL days ^^

Yea, beat it with 4 people

Went into this with a pickup group about an hour ago. Setup was this
RNG/NIN-Me
RNG/NIN-Patit
SMN/WHM-Bewolfe
WHM/SMN-Keebs
BLM/WHM-Kingcronic
WAR/NIN-Lyken

We get to the promy and I realize our WAR is wearing NO BODY ARMOR... So I'm thinking to myself, "this is going to be interesting"

We get through the first floor uneventfully and arrive at the second MR. Someway or another our BLM takes aggro from a Weeper on the other side of the MR and dies, even after I killed it he had 20HP left and didnt heal himself, then got killed my Empty Seed. So he gets into a fight with Bewolfe and leaves the party. So we're at 5 now, no big deal. We get up to the 4th floor and at this point everyone is buffing. Suddenly the WHM just takes off and says "dont worry I have stoneskin and blink on" Well you know what that means in Promy... not much, especially when you take aggro from a Seether about 2 seconds after you start running. Eventually he dies about 2 feet from the spire door. Everyone is like, ok quickly RR and get in here. "I didn't put RR up" OK GREAT... So what are we left with..
RNG/NIN
RNG/NIN
SMN/WHM
WAR/NIN (no armor on)

About now I'm thinking about zoning and leaving the party. But I stayed out of curiousity.

Here's how the battle went down.

SMN runs in and Astral Flows right away with Fenrir. WAR vokes it and uses Might Strikes at almost the same exact time, meanwhile me and the other RNG are pummeling it with arrows. SMN Astral Flows again, mob down to 50%...Wanderer spawns and aggros to SMN, I pull the Wanderer off him and we continue. RNG uses EES and kites the NM as best as he can. SMN Astral Flows for 3rd time and the mob is down to 10% at which time I use EES. Mob = Dead.

Not like I'm telling anyone anything they don't know here. But we did it with 4 people, without WHM, and without animas. No drop but definitely a learning experience.

"Ancient Flames Beckon" is for the CoP Mission
"You are what you eat" is for the ENM (3000xp & loot)

A couple weeks ago and our tank D/C'd in the spire and never came back. So we decided to give it a shot. PT was: rng/nin(me), smn/whm, smn/whm, whm/blm, and blm/whm. We decided I would be the best tank for the job since this is by far the easiest of the 3 promy ENM's.

We went in, buffed up, healed mp, then I pulled it. Right away both smn used Astral Flow. Took barrage to get hate back, then tossed an anima (think it was Hystero). After smn used astral flow again, I used Eagle Eye Shot. I got hate back for a seccond, but couldnt keep it. BLM finished it of with a spell, I cant remember what one though. Our whm died, and forgot to bring reraise, so 2 others didnt get exp either. Thank god an enfeebling earring dropped, otherwise they would have been pretty upset. We spit the earnings from the earring and each ended up with about 670k.

I have done this ENM without a whm a couple times also. Just make sure you have 3 smn.

Well after being 0/10 on this for the Enfeebling Earring, all I can say is.. this sucks.

If anyone was kind enough to give me an Enfeebling Earring for free or something, you can find me on Shiva under the name Yinky.

*I havn't leveled in 5 months because of this earring! Curse S-E for making it! lol*

Do not rate me down for asking a stupid question... I was joking around.

More than 6 ppl?
# Sep 08 2005 at 5:12 PM Rating: Decent
I did this the other night and i noticed that the record time for the ENM was held by 9 ppl.
So can more than 6 ppl do this and the other spire ENMS or was it just a fluke?

yeah more people can enter the ENM but the more people that enter the less exp you can get,And the more people you have to share the loot with.

I am pretty sure you can take 18 ppl into all of them.

Yes. You can check this: when you enter promy, you are level capped but your XP count does not change.

So, even if you are a level 73 RNG with 37,000 / 40,000 XP when you enter promy, you will still see these numbers when your level is capped, and you will level up after beating this boss.

This was a fun fight. Really, very similar to the Dem boss, without all the HP. I died close to the end of the fight (like, seconds before the enemy), and I was all bummed out that I missed the EXP; then our whm raised me before anyone touched the sphere, and the first thing I saw when I was alive was "Linmayu gains 3000 experience points." Woot! So yeah, I'm of the mind that you get the EXP when you touch the sphere.

Just did this a few minutes ago. Really fun! After exploring Tavnazia I decided to do a spur of the moment type thing and said on the LS "Hey who wants to do an ENM?" Plenty of people volunteered.

PT set up:

PLD
WHM
BLM
BLM
BLM
MNK

Getting through the crag was a bit of a hassle without a rng with widescan but we managed it. Since this website was down we had no real idea on what to expect. I just applied my Promyvion strat on kiting the thing around while the DDs stood apart and nuked it. The MNK followed, but I don't know if he could it or not.

It got pretty close though when it spawned a Wanderer and that other empty but we somehow managed. I had two anima on me and I used the one that made it run in circles. In the confusion of it all none of us remembered to 2hr, haha. One of the BLMs died, but he was okay with it seeing how he didn't lose exp. The remaining BLMs nuked the Ingester to death and then we waited until the whm got enough MP to raise the fallen BLM. Touched the orb and he got an added 3k exp, so it was kinda fun of him, dying without losing exp and gaining exp at the end.

Oh and a minor observation: the Ingestor wasn't draining me for HP at all with its attacks, it actually drained my MP, which really didn't matter to me since I was kiting and wasn't able to cast any spells in the first place.

question about the restriction
# Mar 29 2005 at 7:44 PM Rating: Decent
Hey maybe in one of these posts this question was answered, but if your character is capped upon entering ENM and you successfully gain the 3,000 experience points, do the exp. points count toward your character when uncapped? Example: A Lv.50 character enters a Lv.30 restricted ENM, do the exp. points add to the character as Lv.50?

I haven't seen anyone mention the other items that these ENM's drop. I can't remember the actual name of the item, but when traded back to Vanessa she will give you a very rare level 35 Ring. My party did this two days ago and got the item for an Enfeebling Ring. It sold for 3 million gil at the AH in Jeuno and we all split the money. 500k isn't bad for 1 hours work.

From my experience of 5 minutes ago, Fission spawned a Wanderer, probably "Tough". I didn't see any other mobs. Anywho, it was a rather simple fight, as said before. It does have high defence, I was doing 6 or 7 per hit as MNK lol However it has like no HP and I didn't even see it's HP heal as it hit O_o Just keep your HP up and have a decent pt set up (ours was MNK, SMN, WHM, SAM, PLD (with the Shade gear =D), and RNG, no animas used) and you're fine..
No one died, but after we defeated the boss we wound up in the same area I think but with an orb in the middle, nothing happened until someone examined it (I believe), hope that helps.

I had the choice of entering the ENM fight before I even finished Dem, and a party member never completed it and was able to get in just fine, so no I don't think you need to reach a certain point as long as you have the Censer..

It dropped a Malevolent Cluster as well, not great but 1k is 1k =P

Well lets get it right then!!

1. Quest giver is Vennessa in Ru' Lude Gardens.
2. Repeatable every 7 days for same one.
3. You get Key item not an orb.

P.S. If you going to give info (and complain) give it right or just keep surfing.

also drops fleeting cluster. Have to wait 5 days to redo this quest. To get the quest you need to go to Venessa in Ru'Lude Gardens, near the signet guy. To get the quest you have to have promathia and be able to enter promy's. You do not have to have the promy's done to do this quest.
Requirements?

Does anyone know if there are any prerequisites for this quest? Do you have to have reached a particular place in the Promathia missions for instance?

So no, but you can enter different battlefields and do a night of ENMs, just each one has to be a different battlefield. Besides, 3k exp over and over again like that would make lvling way too easy =P
