Returning character remodeling?Follow

#1 Jan 30 2013 at 11:42 AM Rating: Good
Back when EVE online released a bunch of new stuff and a newer character creator, they allowed old players to remodel their characters.

I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything about this for when ARR releases? I don't really like my Elvaan's hair ;_; and Male Mithras look pretty cool, at least from the Limit Break Trailer I saw. However I'm sure there will be an overabundance of male Mithra.

You will get a one-time chance to change your race/aesthetic attributes. Name changes may also be available, pending confirmation.

I personally like my characters name but I wish they had an option to turn the last name off/hide it, I never really wanted one in the first place. No biggie though!

They're also adding barbershops, so you'll be able to change minor features whenever you want.

I could have sworn I read a post saying they were working on that, but for now at least there is this one:

Once again, sorry for the ogre bump. We understand that having two names can make sending /tells difficult at times. Therefore, when it comes to sending tells in A Realm Reborn, we are planning to have two different methods; typing out the player's name and a method that doesn't involve having to type their name. While things have yet to be finalized, we are looking into possibilities such as a feature where you can just click on the player's name in the chat log to send them a tell.

Once we hear some more concrete information we will be sure to pass it along.

If I find the one regarding hiding surnames I'll pass it along, for now it's just a rumor knocking around in my head. I could have been thinking of this one to be honest.

Woot found it, I knew I wasn't crazy:

Please excuse the bump! We have some updated name display information for you all:
In ARR, we will be making it possible to toggle the settings in the configuration so that you can select whether you’d like to display both first name and last name or just one of the two.
We have noted your suggestions in this thread and will continue to listen carefully to everyone's feedback in order to have a satisfactory amount of name display settings.

Cool, good to know. Im just now finding out in FFXI that you can turn off your characters helmet display and I hope thats another feature they add. Its small but I enjoy changing it up nonetheless, especially if Im playing a class that has a headpiece I dont really like the look of such as the bluemage AF.

I thought that feature already existed in XIV.
I could be wrong.

Yep. It was introduced in 1.0. You could also hide your weapon while not fighting with it.
