I plan on jumping into FFXIV once it goes live, and over the past few weeks or so I've been trying to familiarize myself with all the terminology, jobs, locations, abbreviations, etc.
From what I gather, linkshells are guilds, or something of the sort, but my question is this, am I understanding that some of you guys, and gals, will be starting new characters/linkshells on new servers?

Old FFXI player who now has time to get back into another Final Fantasy MMO.
Central time zone. I'll be a new player on ps3.
The game is looking great. I'm looking forward to how everything plays out.

Can put me down if you want. Plan on playing on new server since my old character isn't very high. Time zones don't matter to me I live in CST and work midnights, so my major play time will be in the AM unless on weekends. Haven't narrowed down a name yet though.
EST/non-legacy. Not positive if I'll be on the server or not, I have a bunch of friends playing and have to see where they want to go. But if possible, I'll steer them to wherever this happens.

West coast, I'd like to take my incomplete conjurer somewhere for what that's worth.
