Early AccessFollow

Has anyone that ordered directly from SE receive their early access code? I understand that those who ordered from Amazon have already received theirs.

They still haven't taken the money out of my account and I preordered on the 24th of may.

But to directly answer your question, no I haven't.

Yes, I already got the Amazon code. I'm actually surprised it would take much longer on the main site.

I ordered directly from SE, and no.. I got a PDF informing me that I'd be getting something slightly less useless than a PDF at a later date.

I ordered two from SE and got both codes
I ordered one from Amazon and have NOT got the code yet. I emailed amazon about it.

Check the order page again, for those that got from SE. Just below the link for the PDF is where my codes were. They were called "Serial Number" though.

I assumed that was the product key for my copy of the game.

It was implied that the early access code was something else that I didn't have yet but would receive later. Admittedly, it also thanked me for purchasing A Real Reborn (sic)... so it may not have been entirely accurate.

I also pre-ordered from Amazon and got the early access code (they call it "promotional code" if I'm not mistaken), but not the product key/serial number for the game itself. I assume we receive this near release date. Is this the same for everyone who got it from Amazon?

So, I can't speak for anyone who got a "Digital" copy of the game. I pre-ordered three (3) physical copies of the game. Here is what I know.

I got codes from both, SE and Amazon that are the same.

I got two copies from SE, the limit, to support the cause directly. So, there is a button for a Download. That DL is a PDF containing this:

Quote:
Visit http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com and register. You will be notified via email prior to the launch of the game on when you can return and redeem your preorder code to unlock Early Access to the game along with instructions on how to receive your Cait Sith Doll minion and Moogle Cap digital content. You will need an active Square Enix account to complete this process so, if you want to set one up in advance, please go here: http://na.square-enix.com/members.

That is a "link" where you can enter your email, to "sign up" to be notified when you can enter your codes to be a part of early access. See this quote:
Quote:
nter your email address below and we'll notify you when you can return to the site to redeem your code and download the game to get ready for the start of Early Access and play with your in-game items.

On amazon, when you get your order comfirmation they send to your email you get the direct link: http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com This is what they say:
Quote:
Visit http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com and register. You will be notified via email prior to the launch of the game on when you can return and redeem your preorder code (code listed above) to unlock Early Access to the game along with instructions on how to receive your Cait Sith Doll minion and Moogle Cap digital content.

As for the codes. I ordered two copies from SE and one from amazon. The "Product Registration" of the physical copies will be in the game itself. If you got a digital copy, I don't know how that will work. however, the codes from the pre-order bonus and DL might look the same. So, for me, SE gave me two codes that follow the same format as Amazon does..

SE Codes: XXXXXX-###-XXXXXX-###
XXXXXX-###-XXXXXX-###

Amazon Code: XXXXXX-###-XXXXXX-###

So, I can assume that those are the preorder codes that I enter when SE contacts me, via email, from the link I signed up to be notified by email from, see above.

Does that help anyone or did I ramble on about nothing? I'm different because I ordered from two different places who gave me similar results. I can assume that what I wrote above it how it works and the process going forward. I have not reason to believe otherwise. The biggest takeaway for the bonus stuff is that you will be told when to enter your codes. Also that you can pre-order from amazon.com, get the code, and cancel your order... lol How will they stop you from doing that just to get the code?

Now if only they would let "some" (I.E. Me) of us in to the beta so we can decide if the game is worth buying or not.

Well, I got my codes from Amazon but you still can't input them into the SE site, so they're not much use now. You shouldn't worry, I'm sure you'll get the codes once SE opens the site to registration.

I've been trying since a week or so after they began signup >.<. I'm really hoping I hear word and they start phase 3 early next week since I have the week off from work. Alas, that will probably not happen. ; ;

Phase 2's ..... access to Gridania .... has always been over a weekend. While I think Yoshi suggested he may extend beta test times for phase 3+ later, they'd start over weekends.

I do not know if it is common knowledge or its under NDA but i can at least say they will extend the test time. Don't want to say how long in case its under NDA.

Thank you for clarifying the whole preorder code. I thought I had not found the page, but alas, my email has been rendered and I await
news of early access. Sigh...

First and foremost, sorry to resurrect a 'necrothread' but I just preordered my CE digital copy from Amazon, and got the code. However, I cannot redeem the code when I try to add a game on the SE website. Will I not be able to redeem it until the 24th? I was under the impression that I should be able to redeem it already and be good to go for the early access.

Furthermore, Amazon says it will not charge me until the 27th, so I'm all sorts of confused.
Necro Warning: This post occurred more than thirty days after the prior, and may be a necropost.
#25 Aug 14 2013 at 9:05 AM Rating: Decent
The 27th is launch date so they will charge you then. As for the preorder codes there will be a special site up for that I think before early access they said.
