I disagree. I like baby Ifrit. I found the overly large summons of FFXI annoying in parties. They were so large and annoying.

Fanboy overdrive!!

Ouch Killua, you're insults wound me right in the feelings, my only weakness.

Well, you're just mindlessly agreeing with everything and anything they do.

I just have a differing, positive, opinion

Complain that they're using a 12 year old graphic model in a 2013? WHATD U WANT GARUDA?

The Carbuncle in FFXI was my favorite summon in FFXI. I also loved Pup, and if they gave you some giant puppet, I would not have liked it.

Complain that the avatars look puny when they're supposed to be epic? THEY WUZ ANNOYING WHEN THEY WERE BIG

They were! Maybe I was completely alone in the annoyance of having a giant-*** Fenrir walk in front of my screen and I'm cycling through targets or something, but it was annoyingly large.

Quote:

Anyway, like I said, I don't think that was Ifrit, but the egg version they were talking about. I'm gonna assume Ifrit will be big.

Well, of course it was. Real Ifrit is Real Ifrit... from the Primal Battles. Like Three-Stories tall. By comparison, FFXI's summons were pokemon.

Call me weird for liking the cute cuddly Carbuncle and the huggable baby Ifrit, but I just like them. Hey, guess what? My Favorite champions in League of Legends are Teemo and Volibear, but not that manly volibear with the armor, I like my Volibears in a cute winter hat and my teemo's in a bunny suit.

Well Carby was a friggin lizard in FFT, but we'll let that one slide I suppose.

I'm not a fan of all of the copy pasta monsters either. What they did with funguars is awesome but then I see HD copies of Imps and get kind of disappointed. Now I don't think that they had to come up with entire new designs for classic monsters, however they could have at least put a new artistic spin on them. The treants look great and the Gobbues aren't bad either, even though they only made a few changes to them.

Also, am I the only one that felt that the voice acting in the intro video was kind of.. poor?

The trailer download? That is for an increased chance to get into beta.

Nope, I'm with ya. That's why I'm really hoping they allow us to view CS in Japanese with subtitles. It's not as bad as some I've heard, but some of the voices... (Merlyweb I think is her name, the silver haired elvaan) were just flat out bad. Oh well, I'll still enjoy just having voice acting in the game.

I like the token system idea quite a bit. I know WOW and other MMOs have been using it for a while, but it is a very fair way to divvy out loot, especially with the cross-server duty finder. I think It will lend itself well to a game such as FFXIV where one character can be any job.

Oh.. and I'm fairly new to hardcore PC gaming so what was all the hubbabaloo over directx 9 vs 11? What exactly would the update mean for the game, or any game for that matter?

Also..Louiscool, your new Avatar pic confuses and disturbs me on several levels... It's awesome.

I'm disappointed that Cid's ship is named "the enterprise" although it's about 1/100000000 the awesomeness of the actual Starship Enterprise.

I'm pretty sure that's been the name in several titles not just XIV.
