In ARR i see we pick a class first. Are we going to be limited to just the one class, or can you have multiple classes that are leveled independently from each other?

Case in point I want to be a White Mage to play with a group of friends, were trying to round out a good group to play together. But I have always loved the Summoner class and would like to level that as well. From what I have gathered the general starting class for a Whm is a Conjurer, while a Summoner is going to be Arcanist.

My plan would be level the White Mage while my group was on and do the Summoner by myself. Is this possible?

Anything that gives me info on this would be greatly appreciated. Get to start on beta in 2 hours when I get off work :) Thanks for the help guys.

Short and sweet, thank you so much.

Anyone have a link for people who are just starting up FFXIV? I played FFXI for years and was just looking for an article with general information about how jobs are tree'ed out ect. Again, thank you for the help.

I thought I remembered seeing a link to a picture detailing the relationship between what classes are needed for which jobs. Can anyone direct me to that link?

I leveled Conjurer to 10 and saw that I could spend points to boost my attributes. I was hesitant to do this, since the game said I couldn't reverse it later, and I was thinking of these stat boosts like merit upgrades from FF11.

Are these bonus stat points completely separate for each job I level?

I believe they carry between jobs. The beta manual has a good explanation of what each does.

If you choose to go with the "few" route youll gimp yourself, not having certain abilities for your job that will be needed to maximize efficiency. however if you just want to play war all the time get mrd and gld up and theres the few route working for you.

Yes if youre on war and put them all if vit/str and then level cnj youll have seperate attribute points to put into mnd/pie or whatever the sats are for 2.0.

Thats how it was in 1.0 anyways.
