You're right, no item rewards for FATEs as of yet. Mostly XP, Gil, and of course GC points which can be converted into some nice Armor/Weapons and more importantly a Chocobo License

It absolutely transforms the game to me. So much fun to go FATE hunting with a group of others, we were doing that in Phase 2. Do a FATE, everyone calls up their birds and we move in a herd across the zone to another FATE going on. Feels like a biker gang
