I don't know if this has been posted, but someone posted this in another forum for the current Limit Breaks description after some data mining.

I assume limit breaks are new to this game? I wonder how it figures what role you are? On a side note I wonder if they will do skill chains in this game? Probably not, but seemed like an idea.

I would have to double check, but I believe Yoshi said that combos will be individual, with the Limit Break being shared between the party.

Kind of a shame they broke it out by role and not class/job.

That explains why the Dragoon can use the Buster Sword. So it's any attacker that can use it. Interesting...

One of our MRD's in Copperbell used Braver when we hit both gauges full, it was pretty sweet and wiped the floor with the boss we were fighting.

So is level 2 limit break the max with a light party?

That's what I don't get, we had 2 bars for the boss fight only (smaller fights only had the one bar) but the MRD used Braver which is level 1. I assume the second bar is for more power? Otherwise it should have been Blade Dance. When he used it we lost both bars so I assume it was just more potent.

I thought I remember reading something where light party = level 1, 8-person party is level 2, and raid group is level 3.

Ahhhh that would make sense then.

That doesn't make sense if he used braver on a lvl 2 limit break from descriptions...(all I can go by)

Also,.. since I don't understand how it works. Did he personally select Braver or did it happen automatically, and if you use the limit break it disappears for everyone else to use?

I thought it was weird for Dragoons to pull out a Buster Sword, but I guess it's even weirder seeing a Monk do it.

I don't think it was a level 2 break. The limit break is just a button, you click it and I think depending on your party set up (And if the party limit gauge is full) you will do whatever break is appropriate for your job.

SE trickery! I was promised Meteor in a small group from their video. The Meteor is a lie!

I didn't get to run any dungeons this week, I'm very much looking forward to see this myself next weekend.

Nope. I used Blade Dance in Sastasha, which is level 2, however I was on Lancer. So chances are something didn't go right or it still varies, since MRD is pretty much considered a tank as well.

The second bar only appears when the first one is full. I don't know if there is a second condition for it, but we were able to start a second bar a couple times in dungeon runs. We never filled it though, and we were too busy to really put too much thought into it being boss fight only (though in hind-sight I do only remember it appearing in the boss fight). But it was never visible unless the first bar was full.

It fills based on party play, so if someone is slacking or the "skillful play (whatever they called it)" isn't fully met it won't fill right away. It definitely shows up during the boss fight sections from what I recall.

Ah I could have gone for a more thought out combo/chain system like the one in FFXI. That's not to say I want this to be FFXI I just think it's a bit thin regardless. It seems very superficial, I think the way it's broken down by role only isn't helping that any.

This is also a rare case where I don't think "wait and see what it's like in action" even applies as it speaks for itself prima facie. This sounds odd I guess but it's almost too straightforward.

This seems like something that's easy to add to, as well.

I'd love to see some older school spells like X-Wave or Demi, or even Ultima.

Also I wonder if the person who does the limit break gets all of the hate/aggro thereafter...?
