Shame, since it's probably one of the better combat systems in the FF line. Don't worry about forfeiting man points, broskis. It's not as Barbie Dress Up as haters want you to believe.

I was prepared to make a snarky comment regarding J-Pop having nothing to do with rock, but then I listened to it again and realized it had a contextually decent solo. As a result I have decided to make a snarky remark about how about this song is more rock than 113% of current popular "rock".

After thumbing through my FFX-2 guide again I realized where they got the idea for the green thong over yellow panties subligar...

Man, I'm so happy I didn't play that game! This is the only Final Fantasy so far that I drew the line at.

How I feel about FFX-2 --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Czmb6tEwFE8

I thought it was fun. Once you get past the cutesy stuff it's actually a pretty solid game. Lots of depth to combat, replayable multiple times, etc.

Wow, that new article from mmorpg.com is pretty good!

Yeah, like the English version of the Koda Kumi song. Never existed.

I could barely stomach playing X, let alone even consider ever picking up X-2. I would have considered it had they not taken all the good characters aways, of which there were very few anyways, and then tell me combat consists of these three girls changing their outfits. No thanks, I don't give two ***** how fun it is. It's extremely gay.

I didn't like the game much either besides the combat. But unless you're a female. If that was your interpretation of the combat that's completely heterosexual.

The game gets raving reviews across the board and goes on to be the most successful Final Fantasy game ever?

A matter of opinion, really. Although, in your defence, it is a scientific fact that everyone who played X HATED one character.

Except Auron. Nobody hates Auron.

(At least until you start finding Jecht Spheres, and you realise he's a reformed, whiny Tidus-like ***** boy.)

I did like Auron, and I liked Wakka because he's Bender. lol. That about covers the characters I liked in that game. What was the bad guys name? Seymore or something. That guy wasn't even scary. I don't remember a lot of the story in that game, but I remember you had to fight Sin for some reason or another. The fact that the open world map died with that game made me dislike it more than any other Final Fantasy. Then you get an airship, and it's completely worthless because you can't even fly it around aside from just telling it where to drop you off. Some of my favorite moments in FF games is getting to rip around the skies in whatever awesome airship they came up with at the time, and they killed it. 12 had some of the most badass airships ever designed, but do you get to fly one? No. 13 didn't even bother with trying to have a cool airship. The fools.

Obviously everything I say on here is going to be an opinion. Smiley: grin

Maester Seymour. I found him to be very menacing. FF villains are as powerful as they need to be, so whether he's jumping around chewing the scenery or calmly explaining his insane reason for trying to destroy the world, the danger level is the same. But the person who is evil, but hides in plain sight as a good person is a lot scarier and menacing to me than the guy who makes overt threats and carries a huge gun. The overt guy, you know to avoid, and every one knows that he's a menace, but the genteel guy? No one sees his true evil except for the heroes. Other than Kefka, Seymour is my favorite FF villain. Unless Shantotto counts as a villain.

Damnit, now I have to go play FFX again.

Anyway, I liked all of the heroes. Even Wakka, who seemed like kind of an idiot at first, has such a pure heart that I couldn't help but like him at the end.

The "why" is very important to the story, as well the "what" that Sin symbolizes, both to the characters and the world itself, and to the player. It's the closest thing to high literature I've come across in a FF game. There are lots of very human themes running through the game.

Well I can't disagree with that. For me, the rest of the game had so much good stuff going on that it didn't bother me. I enjoyed flying around in the airship in the other games, but ultimately there were only a few places you could go that actually mattered once you got to end game. Most of it was just the "wheee!" factor of seeing the ground scroll beneath you. I felt like I had a lot more freedom in ways that mattered to me. But like I said, that doesn't make your opinion any less valid.

No, I played every FF that was released in the US. So I, II, III, VII, VIII and IX, going by the American numbering. Plus of course Tactics and Tactics advanced. I even played Crystal Chronicles.

I'd have thought the comment about loving Kefka would have been a tip off that X wasn't my first, but I guess I could have technically played it after X.

I just think that X was the best combination of game mechanics, story, and presentation in the entire series. Some earlier games did certain things better, but I think X is the one that put it all together perfectly.

Not I.

Edit: The reason I didn't play X-2 and the reason I didn't watch Rupaul's Drag Queens is one and the same.

I did not catch your kefka remark, i only ask because more often than not, when somebody speaks like that of a FF is because it was their first, that is why i asked if it was your first.

I thought X was a really great game, minus the part about Tidus being a dream which was just kind of silly.

Using "gay" as an adjective automatically gets rate downs from me.

Shantotto is beyond hero/villian categorization. She is just Shantotto.
