Has a ZAM server/linkshell been established yet?Follow

I have seen a few posts requesting/suggesting the ZAM community get together on a common server and possibly even forming a ZAM linkshell. Has this plan been put into action yet or are we waiting til closer to launch to figure this out? I got an e-mail a few days ago allowing a server transfer so before I make this decision I wanted to see if this is still going to happen, and I'm sure there are others wondering the same thing. Anyone with any info?

The ZAM LS is on Ultros server for beta and launch. We currently have about 75 members or so. Here is a member list, send a tell to any of the leaders in-game for an invite.

Ultros is strictly for fresh players right? Has started a legacy faction for those of us who do not intend to start from scratch?

You can't bring 1.0 characters over to Ultros, however you can create a new character on the server. I think that Legacy players were leaning toward the Legacy server Balmung though. Don't quote me on that though.

Ya I know u cant bring legacy to Ultros I was just wondering if there was going to be another sister linkshell for those of us who intend to remain on their legacy character. 1 fresh start ZAM shell on ultros and 1 legacy ZAM shell on another legacy server I mean.

Yeah I think that those that wish to play their legacy characters are pooling on Balmung, but I'm not entirely sure. there is a Sticky post at the top of the first page about servers. I believe the answer is in there.

Yea that thread doesnt really offer any insight as to where the ZAM linkshell(s) will be established, it really only shows the timezones that zam players live in, which really doesn't matter because hopefully we will spread ourselves out and not segregate ourselves in to est/pst. Ultros has been chosen as the fresh start ZAM server, are there enough legacy players interested in forming a legacy ZAM shell and pooling ourselves together? On the sticky there seem to be a decent number of legacy members saying they are going to or staying on Excalibur, which is where I am from. If nobody else has taken it upon themselves to start a legacy ZAM shell I would be willing to get the wheels moving if there is enough interest.

If you're not able to get anything going on the legacy servers for zam, I think they are allowing server transfers for legacy to new servers after the game has been out 6 months. At least you'll be able to join us then, and not always be barred from the shenanigans that I am sure is to go down in the zam ls/free company.

It says in plain black and white (or whatever your color scheme is) near the beginning of the thread:
Quote:

ZAM New (all time zones): Ultros
ZAM Legacy EST: Balmung
ZAM Legacy PST: Hyperion
Legacy EU (official per SE): Ragnarok

These servers are naturally subject to change after Beta Phase III.

Catwho is quite active and the post was last edited at the beginning of this month.

In not so plain black and white aparently or this thread wouldn't exist. I am still interested to know that if we as a community do join together on balmung or hyperion if there will be a linkshell, who should we speak to about joining, who is leading it, and etc. If these servers are the ones that are chosen the next step is to establish the linkshell itself. There is also the issue of splitting ourselves into est/pst for legacy. All new people/fresh starts are joining together on 1 server regardless of their timezone, we legacy members should consider doing the same rather than split ourselves up into smaller and smaller segments.

Threads like this exist because many people do not want to read FAQs and sticky posts.

I simply accepted that as a fact of life and pointed you to the thread that contained the information you originally requested.

If there were questions that needed to be brought up about the situation, it makes a lot more sense to ask it in the sticky thread instead of spawning a separate thread that's going to be lost in oblivion a week from now and getting defensive with people providing you with information.

I am not getting defensive, but it seems you are. I am simply stating that the sticky says whether people are est or pst. It does offer a suggested server if you are est or pst but does not have any information as to whether there is a ZAM linkshell on those servers. After reading the sticky you directed me to before I made this thread, and then after you suggested I go there for answers, and then again just before making this post that thread still does not answer the questions I have. That sticky suggests that ZAM players have unofficially nominated balmung and hyperion est and pst respectively. There is no information as to whether there is a ZAM linkshell on either one. The purpose of that thread was to split people up into est and pst, not to create a ZAM linkshell, which is why i started this thread. So to get this thread back on topic and to avoid further confrontation with someone who is unable or unwilling to assist with my query I will restate what I am looking for so that if someone else wishes to provide some constructive feedback they might.

Ultros has been designated as the unofficial official ZAM new player/fresh start server. The ZAM community has decided to make Balumug an EST server and Hyperion a PST server. We ZAM users who intend to retain use of our legacy characters should group together on any legacy server to create a ZAM legacy linkshell. Timezone should not factor into this as it did not for the Ultros people (Ultros has no timezone designation as far as I know of). Is there anyone interested in starting up something so we ZAM legacy people can pool ourselves together and start a linkshell. Timezone should not be a factor here, a diverse population and schedule should be encouraged.

Yes thank you Ravashack, I see that... Again. And again the information you are linking does not answer the question I have asked. Those are linkshells already in existence not a newly formed ZAM shell, which is what I am looking for. At this point I would like to respectfully request that you allow someone else to provide some insight as the two of us are obviously not seeing eye to eye and you continue to point me to a place that is not answering my questions. If you do not mind could you please stop posting here as this thread is becoming further and further off topic and becoming some bickering battle between the two of us rather than serving the purpose it was intended to.

I will, unfortunately, decline your respectful request, as I always feel obligated to respond to posts I see that are publicly addressed to me. However, if I feel I have nothing to say on the matter or do not feel obligated to respond, I won't post anything. And you've made it quite clear that you'd rather have a personal thread for it instead of contributing to a more visible sticky thread.

Keep in mind that none of the planned linkshells are actually formed on the planned servers yet. This is easy to verify by using the linkshell search on the new Lodestone. (There's also the wipe at the end of Phase 3 which would require re-importing and re-inviting again anyway.) So it may be prudent to also ask if the time-zone locked people are set in sticking to their set Linkshells.

There is indeed a ZAM Server/Linkshell already made. We're on Ultros Server now, and the LS is simply called "ZAM" lol. I even created an FC that, as of right now, only has ZAM members in it (But i'll probably allow non-ZAM to join later as well). This is for non-Legacy.

Not sure about the plans for Legacy ZAM people, sry. I say just roll a fresh lvl one guy and join us on Ultros lol :P

No, as I just stated I am trying to get this away from being any kind of personal thread. I would again request that you refrain from posting here in effort to get this thread back on subject and away from any personal connection you may have to it. You still fail to understand the question and by continuing to hijack this thread you are ensuring that I will be unable to get an answer. People tend to see drama and either leave immediately or participate in said drama and threads like this rarely seem to get back on topic after this has happened.

The sticky shows where ZAM members are oriented as far as EST and PST, it does have a few linkshells that are not formed on the planned servers but probably will be as you mention. This information is 100% correct as you have posted it and I do not dispute that. What you fail to understand is that this is not what I am asking for. These are linkshells created by ZAM members, they are not a ZAM linkshell. BartelX provided a link for a ZAM linkshell that was formed on Ultros. Click his link, the shell is even called ZAM. This is what I am looking for. I have no desire to join Justice League, *** Kickers Anonymous, or Viva Eorzea (no offense to anyone who may be starting or otherwise involved with these shells). I am not looking for a linkshell founded by someone on ZAM, I am looking for a linkshell that is comprised mainly of by and for ZAM members. I want a ZAM linkshell, not a linkshell made by someone on ZAM. If such a shell does not exist (which at this point there is no evidence to suggest it does) I was wanting to lend a hand to get one started. This is what you continue to fail to understand. The information I request is not in the thread that you constantly refer me to and now you seem content to harass me in effort to ensure that I am unable to find someone willing to provide the answer I seek or to work in cooperation with me to start the linkshell I am looking for.

Hi2u ^^

Don't think anything like this exists for Legacy yet, but as was previously stated, it does indeed exist on Ultros server. Provided that you are ok with rolling a fresh lvl1 char, you are welcome to join us on Ultros. I'll even shoot you an invite to the FC, where YOU can also be a "15ker FO LYFEEEE!!!" ^.^

I am starting to consider starting over but am torn. I really like the idea of being in a shell with this community as the people are generally helpful, friendly, and insightful but I am a casual player so throwing away the progress I have made so far is nothing to be taken lightly for me. I have to weigh the benefits of being with a nearly guaranteed quality linkshell with the drawbacks of ditching all of my previous efforts. I know I am not special in this decision as many of you on Ultros played 1.0 and have decided to do the same but it is a tough decision nonetheless. This is why I am trying to stir up interest in making a legacy ZAM linkshell so maybe people in a similar situation might get the best of both worlds, keeping their 1.0 progress and having a standup ls.

Given the fact that the previous Zam-related linkshell is called "LootWhorinDramaFest," stating that you want "a Linkshell named ZAM" is far clearer than "a Zam Linkshell," yes. I apologize for the aggravation you felt.

LootWhorinDramaFest was NEVER a Zam shell. The Zam shell was The Kraken Club, we formed LWDF separate, and it has stayed separate since.

Ah, my bad! It still wasn't called "ZAM" either way.
