I'm sure others probably have the same question (that I have searched for, but cannot confirm) if we new players (2.0) will be able to join this server or not. If we cannot join this server which servers are available for us to join? I seen the ZAM (New Player) server recommendation, but I'm looking for a complete list. When I played Final Fantasy XI I was part of the Carbuncle realm. I would like to join Excalibur due to the awesome name. Here is to hoping it won't be disabled for us new players.

Legacy servers are open to new players. New servers are not open to characters already created from 1.0. You can certainly start on Excalibur if you want.

Okay, so to fully understand this am I correct in the following?

Legacy Server - Allows you to use a character you have from either 1.0 or beta.
New Server - Everyone starts over from level 1, transfers are disabled (I'm guessing based on what you said, but for how long?).

Does anyone know where I can find a complete list of both server types and which type is better for NA players for latency? Also, if you (Wint) see this post, if I subscribe to this site can I use a 200x200 avatar and a 500x175 signature?

Thanks for your time.

You're right, we don't know when transfers are allowed. Our Avatar sizes are capped at 120x120, sigs are not allowed for now, but I will have news regarding them soon.

you can test your ping to the server via this site. there is a quick download and instructions. I pinged at 19ms from the NA servers.

Thsi is a good site that actually shows the name of the servers prior to launch.

What browser are you running? If it's firefox, do you use noscript? If so, allow all for the page. It works perfect for me.

I'm guessing that's your problem. For some reason, it seems like regardless of which version of IE you are using, certain sites just don't work properly. It's the main reason I refuse to use it unless absolutely forced to (like the first time I use a new computer and that's all it comes with).

IE9 is rather dated isn't it?

Looking at wikipedia I guess it's only one release off, 10 is the current version with 11 being the default in Windows 8.1.

Good to know ie9 is crap. Sadly, I can't do a thing about it. I'm floating on a lowly peripheral CPU with no administrator access.

Yeah unfortunately Microsoft's IE team sees fit to throw standards out the window. I hear 11 is much better but still scores hundreds of points lower than Chrome or FF.

I love Firefox but it's on my computer at home. When I get home, I am usually doing other things.
