No there is a new launcher, the link is on the beta forums. You will need to uninstall the game if you still have Phase 3 installed.

I completely agree. 12 hours late, 36 hours late....who cares? For a game that you will be playing for months possibly years to come, I don't think a day or two in the beginning is game breaking. And people shouldn't act so entitled, we haven't given SE a dime to play this game yet. (Blah blah blah I paid for 1.0...so did I, a CE 1.0 owner here and they are giving us all sorts of goodies for it)

While I think some people are going a lil over the top ie the ones Damien said would stay up 24 hours just to be able to start downloading it are a bit extreme... I would agree that Square waiting till the last possible second to download a large client is pretty much on the lines of epic fail. Yes no one as you put it has paid "a dime yet". But Square is already on thin ice with a lotta consumers. I'm sure it's a issue they can fix fairly quickly but seeing as Square desperately needs good PR at this point it wasn't a wise decision for them to not flip the switch until 0 hour when something like this could very well happen. On the eve of their open beta of a game they are hedging a lot of bets on, 0 communication and stuff like this is what's driven a lotta their fans away.
I honestly think we're freaking out. Maybe they'll extend the beta to early access.

Well for my girlfriend this is the only weekend she can play. She is leaving Thursday for a month to visit/help family so she misses early entry and almost the whole month. She got her ps3 code early today so she is ok but she has to miss along time so some have it worse.

I agree that SE needs to work on communication in general. There could be some technical issues that have arisen, who knows. This is Phase 4, not Launch. This is a schedule time to text the game, it's not early access yet that was paid for so there really shouldn't be this sense of entitlement. If SE has tons of 24hr maintenance after launch, then people will have a reason to complain, not before. I know some people are on the fence already with this game because of the 2010 release. That being said, I think it's entirely unfair to think that Yoshi and his team can do everything perfect. They've done more than we thought possible already. The thin ice comment really irks my nerves. It's not wrong, but it's not fair either to this new team.

I see why you're disappointed, but again, it's just a game. If you're wondering, yes I have installed the client. I downloaded the client on my PS3 so I'm all set to go, but I have other concerns to do as well. I'm not going to be spending every hour of my life just to race to the level cap. I have things to do in real life and I'm sure all of you will play more than me regardless of when you start. This is a MMO, it's not going anywhere. Try to relax, stress isn't good for you.

While I agree with your point, this post seems a little too scathing a response. SE can't account for everyone's personal lives. In the grand scheme of things a day or two isn't going to matter. One poster pointed out that SE needs all the positive PR it can get and I agree with that too. I just think everyone needs to take a step back and realize that this game, like almost everything in life, isn't always going to go your way. So we deal, and express our frustrations out on the internet to strangers.

It's funny, you talk about other people raging and then go ahead and rage harder than anyone else. Pretty much everyone who has posted here has done so civilly, and most were just posting about how it's a bit short-sited for SE to have waited as long as they did for the download to go live. I think if anyone needs to calm down, it's you.

You'll need to uninstall the old launcher and download the new one released after phase 3 ended. This new one will be used for phase 4, early access, and official release. This will be the last one you'll need to download.
