I've been the proverbial white knight for SE during a lot of the alpha and beta phases, but sh*t like this? SE deserves every ounce of ridicule they're getting for this issue right now.

Especially with the whole EU codes sent to NA users again. How many times has this happened now? 3?

It's sad but I am actually agreeing with this. It's now 24 hours later, and I'm still getting Error 3 messages and have not received the email yet...

SE is having major issues with simple things that should not be messed up. It's like there's nobody checking these things before they get released to the public.

The whole thing is rather depressing.

I preordered back on May 23rd, still no E-mails at all to tell me to register, no E-mail saying my CE has shipped as some others have gotten. A bit more communication would be nice so we can at least be reassured that we will in fact at least be able to play at launch even if we end up missing out on EA.

I received the email for completing the registration this morning. It looked like the email was sitting in their outbound queue for 9 hours. However when I go to me SE account and attempt to register with the code that they sent, it states the code is for the wrong region.

I got mine late last night, but getting the wrong region error as well. Doing this thing is just annoying each step of the way.

North American/European Pre-Order Redemption Website Issue Notification (Aug. 20)
Currently, listed below are the issues with the North American/European Pre-Order Redemption Website.

-Unable to access the site regularly
-Cases where Early Access Code wasn’t sending out even when registering the Special Item Code
-Early Access Code sent wasn’t the correct code

We are temporarily suspending the Early Access Code system in order to proceed with the investigation.

We will notify everyone when there is progress on the situation.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I swear they should just make the game launch on the 24th instead of trying to fix the stupid early release code system... it's retarded anyways...

Why do we need to put in a code?!?!?!? shouldn't it just update our accounts so they KNOW we bought it within a certain time frame and therefore just ALLOW early access that way?!?!?!
#109 Aug 21 2013 at 7:23 AM Rating: Good
I said this all along they should have had it running since May/June so it is a slow feed and not everyone going crazy at once. This problem might have happened back in June and right now people would be nothing but excited. Instead they wait 4 days before **** happens and each day makes people panic a little more.

Why sure there is! I see it all the time.

Development team took too long to build the code? Can't go over schedule, just skip testing to meet the deadline!

Is the project over budget due to mis-management of resources? Skip testing to save loads of money! (not really)

Oh and dont worry about testing Bubba's code, it always works anyway!

Theres many more but those are the usual suspects I've seen. Software companies just dont take quality seriously anymore..

Listen buddy, we don't need all that "forward thinking" stuff around here. That'll get you in trouble 'round these parts.

Mine looks like that too even though I was still getting an Error 3 at 6am this morning. I swear Final Fantasy players never sleep.

Hope that means it took. I'm getting ready to say **** it.

It just showed up when I clicked on my profile on the site. No clue if it was an error or not. Course it most likely is as I registered on the NA early access site and in the pic it's EU lol

I don't even think it's a "this would be hard" issue. Whether they implement the process in June or August it's the same amount of work. Potentially less work if they get it done early and don't have to pay their people more and burn them out working extra hours during crunch time.

It just seems like they don't think of Murphy's law, or consider the customer when planning things out.

Even if the process had worked perfectly, they've had people confused and mildly stressed about entering (and not misplacing) their pre order codes for months, instead of confidently awaiting launch knowing they'd get their early access and virtual swag.

There's no excuse for this system not being in place at the same time pre-orders became available. Additionally... there's no reason inputting a code on this page should have to give you another code to input on another page.

That's just silly.

And by waiting until the last minute to put the site up, they were inviting problems like server overloading and bugs that nobody bothered to test for. Now they have to scramble to fix this in time. There are going to be a lot of people legitimately pissed off if they lose out on early access time because of this kind of incompetence; I will be one of them.

I pre-ordered directly from SE. I selected PC digital collector's edition when I did that. They emailed me a code....... why could I not just use that code to register a PC collector's edition pre-order to my account? Why does this need to be difficult?

Yea I got the same thing NA but EU site for my profile. Also I have it for PS3 but it says PC which I heard from ever other PS3 player saying the same thing.

Sometimes I just wonder with the year of major financial losses if SE has the resources anymore. I am starting to feel like this game is being rushed out the door so they can collect some revenue. They cant charge for the games till they ship. All the errors this weekend and the game comes out in a couple days. Not enough servers, obviously not enough people to even keep an eye on the servers on a beta weekend. Something just does not feel right anymore with SE.
There making a joke out of themselves and yea the game is good but they are turning off allot of potential customers here. I am really starting to worry about SE future if they dont turn things around. They also have allot of good game sin the pipeline which they dont seem to want to put release dates on.

I agree that the way Square is handling this is iffy.

At the same time I know that technology does not always cooperate with what you want it to do so problems are bound to come up, and especially when they had no clue that the player base would be so massive. But they've been doing this long enough to be able to be better prepared for something like this. As for the codes, I ordered my game directly from Square so I received a code in my confirmation email, but considering the problems with the registration page I haven't been able to do anything with it. Now I'm playing a waiting game.

I agreed and your are right this is nothing new to them. Its like a computer security company being hacked really.
My fear is this game is going to be launched with all these problems because without the revenue from the sales of FFXIV they cant fix them. This will hurt the game long term by loosing customers. If they turn the servers on this weekend and it is the same all hell is going to break loose. There are only limited mmo players and really SE cant afford mistakes like this or the bad publicity like they had last week. I just hope the real problem is there are way more players than they expected but that can also be a bdad thing because now they put a bad taste in way more players mouths.

I am just worried because I have been on FFXI for so long and if FFXIV fails it will take SE right under with it this time. It may be a great game this time but it could fail because of other reasons, allot of good games fail.

As I see it people are just overreacting a bit. I have faith that SE will fix the problem in time for everybody (most ppl) to enjoy Early Access. Can't we just look at the bright side and see that many have enjoyed Phase 4 and seem to be (too) eager to get into Early Access? Smiley: lol

Related to all this: early access on the 24th. So far so good. But does anyone know a time? 24th of August, 0:00 in Japan?

Error 3102 and its handling damaged my faith in SE's ability to do their job correctly I'm afraid.

Someone in another thread said 2:01am PST, same time all the beta phases started. Apparently that's the new JP midnight.
