As I see it people are just overreacting a bit. I have faith that SE will fix the problem in time for everybody (most ppl) to enjoy Early Access. Can't we just look at the bright side and see that many have enjoyed Phase 4 and seem to be (too) eager to get into Early Access? Smiley: lol

They cant possibly know that until the servers come back on if they fixed the problem without testing them. allot of times it takes along time to go through code just even find a problems let alone how many problems actually popped up.
I would have had more confidence if they would have pushed the launch day back a little. am I going to still buy the game yes because I like it.. will I sit through a month of problems that I am paying for, maybe not.

SE is fully aware of the potential future losses of their company should this project collapse. That being said, there is absolutely no way they don't provide the team working on this game will every penny and resource necessary to keep their brand afloat and turn this into a success. You think SE is willing to risk their brand being tanked so much that they'd watch this whole thing go under without giving that team what they need? No way... whatever direction FF goes has a huge influence on the direction that SE goes. One would even dare say that where FF goes, SE goes with it.

That I would not doubt in the slightest. They've had plenty of time to get a code and make a quick script, especially with how simply formatted the code is.

RMT trying to get ahold of several thousand early access accounts to get the business rolling. Bizarre. But entirely possible. Unfortunately.

See that's the problem They may not have time and it may not be their choice. This game was done on investors money and they maybe pressuring the company. What do you do if you dont have the money to finish the game. You release it hopping for the best. The financial problems with SE are not secret just Google it. They are a public company and their financials are out there. They dont even have the resources to put up a server to take early access codes let alone fix the problem with it. You really think they will fix all the FFXIV server issues in time when they cant fix a simple registration server?

The server issues have already been fixed according to Yoshi, http://forum.square-enix.com/ARR-Test/threads/110037-Regarding-Error-90000-and-3102-from-Beta-Test-Phase-4?p=1330049#post1330049

Edit: Also, when investors see the kind of numbers that this game was pulling in beta in terms of concurrent players online, and the potential this game has, it wouldn't be too hard at all to squeeze some more money out of them to clean everything up and put the cherry on top if thats what it took.

We will see... hopefully it is .. There were more issues than those but they were the major ones. The fact is it just feels rushed all of a sudden and the fact they cant get a simple registration server going does not make me feel more confident launch is going to go smoothly.

Smiley: lol

Seriously, if this does eat into people's early access they will have to do something. People paid for it and if they don't get it a lot of them will cancel their pre order, I probably will. The way they have handled all these BS situations recently has almost completely eliminated my excitement for the game.

That is a post regarding the errors people go during Phase 4, not the pre-order registration that we're discussing in this thread. Thanks for this posting though.

Yoshi made it a point to say clearly that they did not have investors, Square Enix does not answer to any investors... I'm fairly certain he used this argument as to why they would not go F2P.

Thanks for clarifying, I didn't think they did but I took the person's word for it whom I was replying to without checking on the info :D

They better have this fixed by EA. If they dont they better just scrap early access and compensate players with an in game USEFUL gift. People are paying for this now, it isnt a beta anymore. If I dont get in by friday I will scream bloody murder.

I wish I knew for sure lol... I have been trying to register since yesterday morning.
It just showed up when I clicked on my profile on the site. No clue if it was an error or not. Course it most likely is as I registered on the NA early access site and in the pic it's EU lol

Yea I got the same thing NA but EU site for my profile. Also I have it for PS3 but it says PC which I heard from ever other PS3 player saying the same thing.

Mine says PC too even though I'm PS3 but mine is showing on the NA site not the EU. I still haven't recieved an e-mail with any code though and on the registration site I have only been getting Error 3.

Update (again):

Got my fiance's to go through (sort of) but it still keeps saying Error 3... however if you click on your name at the top-right corner and choose "My Profile" from the drop-down menu, you'll see what games are currently registered... hers is now showing, BUT it says for PC even though she's on PS3.

Saw this on a post on SE's site that I clicked through from that page:

Quote:
Hey people, just got this from square: We are very sorry to hear that your PlayStation 3 copy of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN is showing as the PC version of the game on the gameshelf of your Square Enix Members account.

If you have received a 12-digit PSN code after redeeming your 18-digit pre-order code, you will be able to register the Early Access code on the Square Enix account of your choice once you have registered the code on your PlayStation 3.

Edit: It was supposed to be "My Profile" not "Settings" that you go to from that page.

I'm worried that customers who have already received the wrong region code will be stuck when EA begins. Will SE do the right thing and send out the correct region code to customers who have already been given the wrong code?

I think that particular statement from Yoshi is a bad translation. SE Most definitely has investors since it is a publicly traded company and has over 100 million shares outstanding.

http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/snapshot/snapshot.asp?ticker=9684:JP

I think what was really meant was that SE had not taken out any loans to make the game as many companies might do, and as such had no financial backers breathing down their necks to hurry up and repay the money.

Mine looks like that too even though I was still getting an Error 3 at 6am this morning. I swear Final Fantasy players never sleep.

Hope that means it took. I'm getting ready to say @#%^ it.

mine looks the same but I registered a ps3 code and it says pc. also on the code website I get to the confirm button and when I push it nothing happens not even an error. also I never received any email from square jus the one from amazon with the 18 digit code.

Honestly not having investors scares me more and your right I did read that somewhere. They have lost so much money where is it coming form then? think about it... Your loosing in the 100s of millions a quarter and loosing money has been going on for years, they had to finance it somehow. I still think it is a money issue. You can not loose that much money that long without someone coming to knock on your door, bank, investors or government, also SE is a publicly traded company so technically they still have investors.

SE has taken a beating in stock prices since the economy tanked, that and releasing several subpar games. I dont think they can afford a colossal failure again.

Same here but i did not get the email with the second code

I kinda feel like this is a user created issue.

those who have not received emails saying there code is ready to register, keep trying to register anyway, over and again ever minute for some reason. This is causing the lag errors for those who DO have valid codes.

perhaps someone thought "we will release the codes in sections to avoid the site being slammed by everyone at once. Lets email persons A-C first, load those codes, then 6 hours later we release D-H and add those to the current stash of codes and email those folks. So it tapers off 500,000 people trying to shove their code in first for NO good reason.

Instead, someone who got an email saying their code was ready went to posted on ZAM and every other site within the first 5 min of the first wave going out to everyone and there uncle is trying to shove there codes which obviously don't work, into the system over and again.

It may not be by name, it could be region, it could be by vendor, fact is, I wouldn't assume anything is broken until you actually get the email that they said they are going to send when your code is ready, then try to register it, if it failed, THEN you might have an issue.

Its more everyone is lagging it and slowing those who CAN register their codes down.

Dont create problems because you cant follow instructions

As for the NA VS EU codes, that is broken.

Are you talking about on your SE account management system on SE site?
I have not registered with their Early access site yet do to the problems. My SE account shows me as resisted too but I think it is just left over from the beta.

Emails can get lost. SE announced that early access registration would open on 8/20. It is now 8/21. I don't see how it's unreasonable for people to try and register now rather than waiting on an email that they may never see.
