Why worry about strategy and learning your class/abilities when you just gain an instawin boost after wiping a few times.

ACtually I never got the boost in phase 4 because I found it very hard to die. How big of a boost is it?

It is pretty substantial.

I could not tell you. I got it during a battle I didn't understand and lost. Seems I just had to keep a NPC alive and I won but instead I was DPSing everything in sight. So it's not an insta-win boost per se.

They needed to make it easier, many classes couldnt solo the solo content.

Any class could solo that quest. They just needed to pay attention and realize where the damage was coming from (poison).
Stuff like that adds depth to the game and Its sad to see Square-enix dumbing down the game. Making it easier doesnt make the game better. If other people are having trouble, they can easily ask for help. This is a MMO afterall.

Also I understand this is low level content. Its just I feel like this dumbing down will extend throughout the game and thats what Im worried about.

This isnt about being elitist either. Its about a game having depth. I dont want all the quests to be so easy that I can watch TV and not even pay attention while I'm fighting. That isnt fun to me. Fun to me is using every last ability, cooldown, and item to just barely scrape by. That is what gives the feeling of accomplishment. Or figuring out that using an antidote to cure the poison will allow you to survive long enough. Thats another way to get a feeling of accomplishment.

Having tried it in phase 3 on several jobs you are dead wrong. Marauder even with antidote was a crap shoot (took me 4 or 5 tries). Thaumaturge was impossible. So I think you dont know what you are talking about.

This is true. Mrd it was very hard without a cure, and in P3, there was no way to get cure prior to this quest because you are land-locked. Now you can at least get the cure from Acn..

THM was not impossible what the heck are you saying! The fight was not easy but it wasn't impossible either I liked it.

I got it the second time I tried. You just use antidote and when you start having HP issues you take a hi-potion. If you still have issues you simple sleep the damn thing and wait for the timer to end so you can use another potion. You wouldn't need to do much more because soon you would have that NPC help.

With that been said I believe it was a mistake to nerf it. Sure it was hard as I said but it wasn't that bad to the point to need to nerf it.

I really haven't noticed a difference in difficulty between the two phases.

I have noticed I know what to do now, and failed in P3 because I didn't know what the objective was.

I'm also pretty sure if you stuck by the NPC in P3 theyd heal you as well. At least for melee classes.

They do, but their reaction times are really bad. It was easier to just keep myself cured.
