I know there are a lot of doom and gloom posts about the bad launch of early access, but do you guys think the launch will be alright tomorrow?

If not why?

I personally think it will be ok minus a few errors here and there... One thing I hope they fix that I've been reading a lot of is.. The servers being full, I hope this is fixed by tomorrow if not its going to be even worse than early access launch :S

I'm just curious to what you people think.. Please try to keep the thread flame free too please!

Thanks :D

You could have just picked a popular "doom and gloom" post and added your comments. So I will offer you none and invite others not to do so. This topic is up, talked about and has merit. But not in a new post because you feel it needs one.

I don't think it'll be smooth as silk but better. Sunday was bad but I would be surprised if it isn't better each day from here out. With it being the beginning of a normal business week the team should have more resources available to help solve the issues.
#4REDACTED, Posted: Aug 26 2013 at 4:36 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I heard that it's the Canadians who are having so much trouble with the servers. Maybe Yoshi will have someone competent fly out to Canadaland and help out.

I honestly can't see it getting any better. Not that I don't want to be optimistic about it, but their plan so far as we know is to stick to this error of 'World is full, try back later' approach to avoid server crashes. This means that instead of going into a queue, you basically just spam login until you actually break through. A lot of people are going to be very, very upset.

SE **** the bed on this one Smiley: oyvey

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

I'm waiting until this evening before I start panicking. SE in Japan is trying to fix issues in a data center on the other side of the planet. I'm sure the ground team in Montreal was just as frustrated as the players over the fact that their servers no worky.

This morning is the start of an actual business day, which means 1. Fedex deliveries of new equipment if needed 2. Tech support from any software/hardware partners is available (CIIISSSCOOOOO *rage*) 3. The people who were allowed to sleep at all over the weekend are hopefully refreshed and recharged and ready for another 16 hour day.

I guess I was lucky last night. I had just purchased the standard edition from Amazon, got my download code, updated my v1.0 character (yes I know I could have just waited another day and a half without buying another copy, but I was bored and curious), and got put in a queue of about 24 people. 3 minutes later and I was in the game playing. (This was around 9pm EDT)

While there were aspects I loved about v1.0 it was an absolute disaster for UI, quest structure, and more. The key difference from the couple of hours I got to play last night: The core game underneath is much MUCH better, so even if they have access issues the first few days/weeks, it's a game I'm excited to be playing, and THAT is critical.

The graphics are even MORE beautiful, but I can actually run them on high, the UI is pretty good, and I can already see so many tons of quests and things I want to do that it is almost overwhelming.

Even if it takes a bit longer to sort the queueing/stability issues I'm still happy because once they do there's actually something here that I can see myself sinking hundreds of hours into, so a few days either way will be a bump in the road soon forgotten.

I think it'll gradually get better as we go. I'm sure they'll still have downtimes on launch day and maybe even for a couple days after, but it does seem like they're taking preventative measures (ala pop caps on servers and scheduled maint.) instead of just being reactionary whenever problems started occuring.

This may be overly optimistic, but I believe that come next weekend all these dowtimes and issues will be a thing of the past.

The servers will do what theyve been doing over EA, but worse. What magnitude of worse? I dont have ananswer but its going to be very, very, ugly.

If you are already waiting to get into servers (even though you already have a character made) then yea launch day is going to be HORRIBLE. Do not log out.

As a Canadian, if I were, say, deeply offended and emotionally distraught by this wanton mockery of my humble people, could I petition to have him banned?

Oh God, please say "yes."

You're offended that there are idiots living in your country? Don't worry, there's idiots in the USA too.

Luckily, they're generally easy to spot.
