People have to be able to get in for it to crash

Starting early is probably the best strategy by far to curb the flood of new users into a steady stream.

Assuming anyone can even log in, at least.

Funny part, my buddy just downloaded, made his character on Balmung...and logged in 2nd try. He's already impressed compared to 1.0...there's absolutely no rhyme or reason to getting on beyond dumb luck.

The NA/EU release is going to resemble a dumpster fire if they don't get their crap together real soon.

The guy from game stop called me to say they are having a midnight launch for FFXIV and madden I believe was the other game. I told him why would I rush in since the servers are full. He said almost half the people cancelled their preorders he thinks allot did in for the early access codes and cancelled. I told him what happened and he said well that explains it.. We have allot of gamestops around here so it probably don't have a ton of orders to begin with.

Hmmm, curious why they don't just have log in queues instead of making us try to log in each time? That way I could not only see how many people are ahead of me, but I wouldn't have to spam the log in button.

There are queues, they're just getting hit too hard by people attacking the login button. I got a 40 person queue 20 mins ago, went quick.

I think what's making things worse, is once you're in, the game is great with few bugs. So ya, beyond annoying if you like the game.
