I think people may want to consider rolling on a JP server if they haven't already made a lot of progress

Can always server transfer later if they get their crap together

Launch isn't until tomorrow.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

The very message of error 1017 is ridiculous - because we know exactly when it won't be full and can join instantaneously. Also, I love it when you make it into a queue and then still get 1017 when it's about to launch.

I forgot the cardinal rule of FFXIV: Once you get in, never log out.

Well I guess so, but I don't have early access and I am playing - pretty sure launch has happened because it is the 27 in Japan - they even announced it. ( see szabo's thread!

Transferring is going to cost money... They should suspend that...

Here are my thoughts:

F___ YOU SE

Thanks asking and letting me state my opinion. Im not going to throw my entire reasoning behind my clear frustration, its been covered pretty well elsewhere.

For the record, Ive been very patient, but I am out of patience. Didnt care about phase 4 problems, and gave the benefit of the doubt. But after pre ordering for me, my wife and a friend, Im pretty disappointed none of us can actually play together properly.

While the restrictions are annoying, I'd rather have a long log in time than random 90000, 10102, and 3102 errors during duty, zone transition, etc. They must really think there will be a substantial drop off in simultaneous connections in the first few weeks. That or they're really scared of server merges in the short term.

Do you truly and honestly believe that complaints on the ZAM forums are even gonna come close to reaching the eyes and ears of SE? If you do, you'd be dead wrong. The people here are talking amongst each other, not to SE.

Holding them accountable, complaining about their service, and just outright tearing them a new one, isn't going to solve anything. SE is going to do, what SE is going to do. Your opinion, my opinion, or anyone else's opinion, isn't going to change whatever agenda they have planned.

You're only wasting your breath on here throwing all your negativity around. The only thing you're accomplishing is getting downvoted to oblivion by the people that don't want to see it.

Actually the SE DEV, team does come to ZAM for feedback, at least for FFXI they do .

Posts about how messed up SE has made this launch were getting bombed to default almost instantly yesterday. I am seeing them all rated to Good today. 1 day and everyone has lost their patience. I guess though I am in the same boat. 1017 for 2 days straight is pretty frustrating. This is going to be a rough week for SE

I live in North America - do not have early access- and I have been playing.

Also why would they announce a JP only launch in English?

I don't have early access and I've been able to log in since ~3 pm west coast time. 'Course, I got hit by the wrath of the 1017 and after being beat mercilessly for a few hours, I got a good 30 minutes of play time.

If this carries over beyond tonight (and it certainly will), then SE will strongly need to consider postponing the start of subscriptions until this is fixed. You can't expect people to pay subscriptions for services they're unable to use.

If they don't we won't have to worry much longer about login issues, people will just decide they dropped cash on a worthless game again. I'm not setting my sub until the last possible moment and/or i've confirmation that i'll actually be able to reliably play when and where I want to, without being told I can't use a service i've paid for. Not trying to be a negative nancy, just stating what most of us feel about the situation.
