I did it a bit different. I went to account management and entered the code XXXX-XXXX-XXXX on the back of my booklet into the redeem codes section. This allowed me to download the client, but I already had it bacause of beta and early access so I canceled the download. Then I went and logged on through the FFXIV disc (not the old client) and got to the log in screen (where all the developer's messages are). I logged in there and it made me accept the contract agreement again. Then it made me register my game to my SE account. I did not add a new account through this process, but instead proceeded with my old account that was already selected.

So no, you do not have to first log onto the browser to register the game before the PS3 will let you register.

Then something changed between then and now because my work mate tried it that way and he still couldn't play. But thank you for verifying the steps you took for us.

I will have to try this. My PS3 code still doesn't let me d/l the game client via PSN store. I have the Beta 3 and phase4 (early access) client on the PS3, but it keeps saying I don't have the game linked it to my account... MogStation keeps saying that I only have a windows version.

meh

My problem is that it is telling me my registration code is invalid. I don't know what to do about that.

I followed all of this and registered the game to my Square Enix Account but I also had to register a pre-order/early access code service as well.

It seems all of my data and character stuff has only been saved on the early access code which has now been deactivated. Square Enix for some reason have not set it up to move over automatically and are now out of office for the weekend so I cannot contact them to sort it. The form I fill out to ask them to transfer the service account says it can take 2 weeks!!!!

Sorry for my necroposting, but this thing is driving me crazy. I've done everything written in the 5 points, but: 6) You'll notice that not a damn thing has changed except the product is registered. Your Mog Station will still say you have no subscription, etc etc. Go back to your PS3 and log into the game. Now and only now will it ask you to register the actual FFXIV service to your SE account. Once you accept the terms and conditions and add the game as a service, you can manage it online at the Mog Station.

This doesn't happen to me. I start the game, I insert my credentials and it still says to me that I have to go to the mog station because my free trial is finished. Nothing about linking an account or whatever. please, help me!
Necro Warning: This post occurred more than thirty days after the prior, and may be a necropost.

No problem! I'm happy to be able to answer your question. If you've run the trial, you've clearly already associated your SE account with your PSN ID and whatnot. What you need to do now is log into your Mog Station and update your payment information, it'll charge you for the service length you choose, and you'll be all set to go.

This is what it looks like for me.
