Account Management issueFollow

Based upon recent suspicious activity, we have identified that your account may potentially be at risk. For your protection, we have temporarily suspended login access to this account.
Instructions for lifting this restriction have been sent to the email address registered to your Square Enix Account.
For more information about the login restriction, please refer to the following page:
http://support.na.square-enix.com/j/lbna

Has anyone else got this message?
I get this today and so it locks me out of ffxi and ffxiv.

The funny thing is on their website it says this:

How to avoid the login restriction:
Using a Square Enix Security Token will prevent any login restrictions from being placed. Security Tokens are also an effective means of preventing your account from being compromised and we strongly recommend their usage. For more information on Square Enix Security Tokens, please refer to the following FAQ.

But I have had a security token since before WOTG release. Granted it was my friends who quit ffxi long ago and I eventually linked it with my main account. So maybe I will have issue with birthday reset. But why am I getting this to begin with. SE says if you have one you don't receive this email blockage. yet I have one and they are blocking me from logging in, playing and paying.

Precaution usually taken when you attempt to log in after a long period of time or from a location that isn't recognized.

If I log into SC2 from home it usually won't ask me to authenticate because it's a recognized location. If I travel and try to access from a hotel or family residence, I always get asked for my authentication code.

I did just move to Vietnam. So that may be the reason. But if they ask me for a birthday that's a hassle. It wasn't like I didn't order a security token, they just wouldn't ship them to Korea. I can only imagine the hassle when dealing with SE to get the old users birthday. I personally would of unbroken security token, but you know you can't do that.

Still, I advise never buying a security token. It causes headaches and breaks the promise of no hassle when logging in, or account management.

My XI token is a little over four years old (one of the first ten released, I won it from ZAM) and has never given me a problem. Ever.

Then again, I've never used another person's account, or anything of that sort.

Honestly I think the issue is moving to new countries. Korea is a hot spot for gil sellers they say. I disagree. No one knows the game in Korea. China does. And now that I am in VN the IP address probably makes a red flag

I would of never lined the account but SE encouraged it and wouldn't ship a pad product, but were happy to take 9.95 years ago.

It's a hassle to tell them when you're born? You can't be that old....

All you have to do is open the email associated with your account, click the link to verify and fill out the form. It will take you to a page where you update your password and you are free to login after that. It's a few minutes to sacrifice to keep your account safe.

Worth.

A lot of little kiddies started playing under the age of 18 and lied about the age on their account so they could get through.

Then they forgot to write down what age they lied about.

Don't think that applies to Kim's case here, but that has happened to quite a few folks I know. Smiley: rolleyes

yea, I gone through the update about ten times now. Successful each time.

Then when you log in after being successfully changed it still gives the same message. Even if you try ffxi or 14. So weird, guess I will have to call soon and figure out why after switched it still not working.

That is hilarious! I guess I am happy they didn't have mmos before I turned 18...

Your Square Enix password has been changed.
Clicking "Proceed to Top Page" or waiting a minute will automatically take you to the Square Enix Account Management System top page.

Proceed to Top Page

Its stuck in this loop. I change it and every time I successfully change it but it still locks me out.

Really SE sucks. I think they do this just to **** people off and make it so paying customers can't og inso they can get new subscribers on their worlds.

And yes I have a security token. WTF is the point of saying you won't harass people who have one. Then even when users do change passwords you continue this endless loop.
