If we can find a vent channel that will accomodate 200 people that could work, though how we'd keep everyone from talking over each other, I have no idea. Anyone have any other ideas? Also, as much as I'd like to wait until next week, we need to at least get a few things sorted out now.

I would say try to set up something with Text chat on a computer of some sort. You supply the link or something like that. Maybe use skype but instead of voice chat we just text instead? I dont if we cant that many people in one chat for text with skype. I am just using skype as an example. THere must be other ways I just don't know any.

How about asking Wint to lend us his IRC channel? It's easy to use and doesn't require a mic.

I am a bachelor this weekend and besides a few chores, plan on getting my FFXIV on. Unfortunately, 8000 users might beat me to it, in which case I will be very disgruntled. I'm about 75% sure I won't be able to log in this entire holiday weekend due to 1017.

@ Bartel

I'd like to add crafting/gathering info to this agenda. We could move it to a few weeks from now, but I think it'd be useful if we put together a list (possibly in our forum) of people and their trades, so we can know who to go to for what. We used to do this on my old LS a few years back and it really was quite helpful. You know who to go to when you need x farmed or y crafted.

Yep, was planning to address crafting and gathering at some point.

I second that.

Not to mention this can be a useful guide to see what trades we are lacking as a FC.

May not be on at this time but will catch up on the forums of not.

Why not make a post in our linkshell forum about the items we need to discuss? We can think it over and discuss items on the forums for a few days, then schedule a meeting when more people can log in?

I don't mind if I miss this weekend's meeting... just seems like a bad time to ask people to be online, since many people who would want to be there will get 1017'd.

Well, Swift has already contributed a pretty good fishing starters guide. I think if we can identify leads for each craft and have them be the designated gurus and responsible for each faction, we could really do some work! a mini Free Company Economy!

There are definitely things that need to be hammered out sooner rather than later. Having a meeting here is a good start, though it's obviously not the only step.

It's tricky to get everyone logged in at the same time under ideal conditions, there are just too many people for that to be practical ever. There will be lots of notes taken though to make sure any information is relayed to those people who can't make it. This is as good a place as any for that to go until we get some kind of FC forum started up.

This is very similar to what I was thinking we'd do, and something we will discuss during the meeting.

Weren't FC's supposed to get their own subforum on Lodestone or something?

Any guess as to the best time to try and log in successfully this weekend, if at all possible?

Here's where ours is located. Since everyone already has a Lodestone account, I think it would be a decent option for our official forum.

Unfortunately, I'm not usually on 'til 8:00 p.m. EST (if I can even get onto the server), so I guess I'm going to miss most of it. I'll be sure to read the Coles Notes version, though...

I will be there and can we talk about which slot the dodo meat goes into the FC chest? Every time I check it's in a different place.

Also the company toilet seats -- can we please either leave them or down?

It's important that I be able to use the facilities in complete darkness and with maximum speed. Thus I'd like to pick one option and put this issue behind us once and for all.

I most likely will not be able to attend this. My family already made plans with relatives to do a bbq. Just wanted to let you know that I wasn't just skipping out on ya :P
