Just curious if anyone else read the whole "we will severely restrict login access after the maintenance and gradually reduce the restrictions as we monitor it" thing or not?

Great now people will complain about other people using logic and common sense on a forum.

Had a good 2 hours session on Tonberry JP, then suddenly got disconnected.
Tried to get back on, didn't get a queue, but an error 1017. Tried a few more times then JP server list couldn't load.
This is peak hour for JP server, I am happy I got a few hours play out of this, but still a bit of work to be done for SE, I really didn't pay to be a beta tester.

Also this may be due to the servers just starting up and fewer people online, but I'm seeing less lag now. Here's hoping this continues to be the case throughout the day.

yep needs to change. The levequest them music is way more epic than the reg battle music

While I am with you in spirit, I have to caution on this... mainly because this was said multiple times before:

Once the open beta is over, those people will have to pay for the game and that's when things ease up.
Once the Early Access is over, people will cancel their order and leave and things will ease up.
Once the free month is over...

That said, seems the game itself is pretty successful to have problems of population through all this. The trick will be after month 3 when everyone is nearing or already well into the end game festivities.

The problem with this train of thought is that while people are ********* they are not ******** about the game itself but the log in issues. If they had issues with the game then the above would hold true, but they don't.

I may be alone in this, but I'm actually really happy that they changed the battle music. :X I never strayed too far out of the starter zones in 1.0, so I'm not sure if it changed as you progressed in the game, but the music always made me laugh. It felt really out of place and kinda cheesy to me.

I managed to patch and log in briefly this morning before work. No queue, just went right in. It was very nice!

As others have said though, tonight during prime time will be the real test.

Here's hoping for the best!

Alright so I haven't heard of anyone still having issues getting into the game.

Can we declare this issue over and move on?

I got home and just tried to log in. I was 12th in queue. I thought great, they fixed it. Waited a bit and then got kicked out of queue and then constant 1017 after that. This is on Ultros.

Mmmmm...Friday night, 9pm EST until Sunday night. Things go well then, this issue should be done.

It's also only 4:30 on the west coast, so they'll be trickling in from work, school, etc now.

1017 error at 4:38pm PST. This will be 3 days in a row I haven't been able to log in at all.

Should I stick it out and get up a little early (like around 2am) and just stay logged in for the next month while my PS3 melts into a little slag heap?

Or should I just accept the fact I spent $80 on a 50 page book of concept art and a CD-shaped drink holder?

I know everyone's tired of the complaining. I know I don't like myself for being as upset as I am. None of this knowledge trumps the fact that I'm totally fed up right now.

This is too bad... I'll be testing the login about 30 mins from now, and will post whether I can get in (Seattle, here).

If the 1017 is still rampant on the West Coast, then hopefully this is just a matter of the login restriction still needing to be lifted. Otherwise, more people on the West Coast will start staying logged in, which will cause everyone else to stay logged in, and we'll be right back in the cluster we started with.

I'm pleased to report that on my first attempt, I was placed in a queue of nine people and successfully entered the game about a minute later!

So far, so good!

Multiple times on Leviathan throughout the day, most recently at 8:22 PM EST (or 5:22 PM PST), not a single 1017 error in sight.

I shall now do the Dance of Joy.

I was able to get in also. It took about 45 minutes of 1017 and then I got into a queue of 49.

I was able to login with no queue at 6:00 pm EST. Since launch day I have been unable to successfully login at this time. I live relatively close to the NA servers too.
