I disagree with appearance tabs. I rather like the motivation of excelling beyond 'ugly gear' phases. It's a rite of passage everyone should continue to experience as a level of achievement.

Too much catering in today's MMO. Suck it up, subligarian. Smiley: laugh Take solace in the fact that food now lasts beyond fail (an argument for another day).

I hardly call letting people pick and choose their own fashion "catering". This isn't 2001 any more,regardless of what S-E and some players may seem to think.

If you and S-E think appearance doesn't matter, then why even put in stuff like this? It's absolutely worthless outside of appearance, so why bother at all?.

Depending on how difficult things are, you might even be able to just mooch quest completion from high level folk. Some might frown upon that, sure, but people getting their knickers in a knot over some vanity items just need to lighten up.

Maybe I'll run into some high levels willing to help. Just "mooching" isn't something I like to do.

Well, we have until December 9th. I can surely get to 38 before Chapter 3 is released, and I just need to get another 7 levels on top of that in another two weeks. (Even losing the week I'll be a Catwho-cicle up in Montana for business in Dec.)

And then you start getting end game gear and realize those are ugly as &$@$ also. Allagan visors on melee look really dumb to me and i would rather look like im using something else. I know i can remove head appearance, but theres nothing wrong with vanity slots. You have to be the right level to wear the higher level gear anyway. I just dont think anyone deserves to wear those cone hats.

If current quests are any indication, you won't be able to mooch off higher level players since, most likely, you will have to be the same level or higher stated on the quest to turn it in.

It's a quest...that has you go to either one of two locations (your choice) and wait for a specific FATE to pop. You'll know if it's the right one when the fate music starts and it sounds like the battle theme from XIII and text bubbles appear on your screen from ???.

Just do the FATE's again. Each silver/gold gives you 2 "otherwordly parcels." Meaning you need to do the FATE's a total of 5 times to complete the quest and get all 8 weapons.
