Yeah me too, I think you guys may be slightly ahead of me, my playtime is really restricted lately and I still need to finish up WVR 33-50 and then apparently BSM 15-50 too..

If I want to remain in my relationship my playtime will not be increasing, it may actually be decreasing...

Just gotta set your priorities! :P My SO gives me 3 nights a week to raid/do whatever I want but expects me to spend time with them. So I generally do and everyone usually ends up happy.

Granted, I can agree that I probably play a little more than most.

Anyways, the reason why I liked your guide so much is that it required so few level 50 crafts. Right now, I now need 50 BSM (currently 45). However, if you look at the recommended rotation in that post, he requires comfort zone too! /cry

On a side note, I crafted another vanya hat of healing today for my SCH. However, guess what happened this time around? I was sitting at 4 points away from completion on the progress meter. :( So, I had to gamble and use rapid synth. Fortunately:

Granted, it was my fault for not HQing the vanya silk. I wasn't paying attention and an excellent procced which screwed up my rotation.

Anyways, BSM at 50 should fix this no problem.

This thread has me absolutely terrified of crafting. Crafting effectively seems like it's going to be harder than tanking a dungeon with a narcoleptic healer and 2 DPS that don't understand threat control. I think I'll start by levelling the gathering professions and just holding on to everything I gather. On that note, is there any extra storage space out there besides your inventory? At level 27 I've already got 2.5 bags full of random reagents/ingredients and about 9 different types of materia I've converted from gear I've upgraded out of. I'm worried I'm going to run out of space soon.

Once all of my DoL classes are capped, I think I'll go

All > 15
CLN > 37
CRP > 50

After that I'm not really sure what the best order would be.

For WHM, which pieces should be Vanya? I've seen a lot of the head and body. What about the rest?

Also, what earrings are you wearing? They don't look like red coral.

Because the mages darklight is a cowl A lot of people I know end up going from darklight to some Vanya pieces depending on what they end up upgrading with ToM and Coil drops. Like HitomeOfBismarck I didn't like the idea of going back to Strategos.

It does, doesn't it? :P You don't know when you'll see your BiS item if it's a drop so you might as well. What I have a problem with is losing my money on melds. For instance, my earring used to have a bunch of ACC materia in it (took around 400k to meld it about 2 months ago) and my BLM replaced it the next week. Now, I'm using it on SCH but I had to get rid of the ACC materia this morning which meant getting rid of all the materia. ; ;

I'm not sure how your servers are, but potash just crashed to 10k last night. You should be able to make the hat dirt cheap. Wait till the patch comes before you make the body.

Really, the big expense is on materia.

I think the WHM BiS body is actually a drop from turn 4. AF2 isn't bad I guess? You'd have to ask our resident WHMs. I know for SCH, AF2 body is BiS and the healer circlet is BiS for both healers IIRC.

Vanya should be transitional pieces. They are used to bridge the gap between darklight and AF2 / Allagan armors. When penta melded, they offer more stats than darklight, and make great transitional pieces because due to different materia and dye combinations they are customizable. Plus you can convert them for a guaranteed IV materia once you get the AF2 / Allagan BiS piece.
