What adventures did you get up to in Eorzea this weekend?

  • Culinarian 41 → 50
  • Master of the Hand <mine>
  • Botanist 41 → 46
  • Arcanist 1 → 15

  • I'm in complete love with Arcanist, I wish I'd tried the job a lot sooner. Topaz Carbuncle seems like a beast!

    - Completed Turn 1-4 ( Tried one tank strat on T1 and just burnt snake down with 5 DPS. So much easier! )
    - Capped Myth on Char 1
    - Capped Myth on Char 2
    - Completed Relic on Char 2

    I leveled goldsmith 40-50 and started replacing all my old accessories I bought at the market board with ones I could finally make myself. I was going to start making the level 50 goldsmith armor but then found out 2 pieces need leatherworking which I don't have fully leveled. In the mean time I made a full set of Patrician's to use.

    Took miner 33-34 and summoner 32-33. I also finally unlocked Brayflox's Longstop on the main storyline late last night but didn't go in. It reminded me how far behind on the story I am but I think I'm going to focus on getting at least 1-2 more crafting classes to 50 first.

    All my DoH and DoL crafts are at 50 and fully materia'ed out. And since I have no interest in leveling a DoW class, I rank my progress by seeing how much gil I can make on a given day. For the sake of simplicity, I'll use "total revenue," for the measurement. (That is, how much I take in after taxes. My profit margins are actually much smaller. Just saying.)

    This weekend for Fri, Sat, and Sun was ~ 800k, 600k, 400k respectively.

    Amazing weekend for me. I helped a group out for Hydra because I'd already done it, but I was stuck on Garuda HM because of DF woes. After the run, the leader offered Ifrit and Garuda HM runs for anyone that wanted to stick around. The entire group decided to stay, including me, and we owned each fight with a solo tank stunning Ifrit and tanking Garuda's red clone+Garuda. My first Garuda HM clear was therefore done with a random awesome PUG.

    Then my friend and I started (duty finder) farming Garuda HM for my BRD bow and for his PLD sword. Got the bow pretty quick, but the sword...I guess that's why they say the 23rd time's a charm! The best part though, was me out-greeding 6 other players for a Garuda Axe that popped. Out of 23 runs only two axes showed up, the other of which went to the WAR tank that was with us that run. All that is left is Titan HM for my first relic weapon.

    MNK 33->42 for Mantra
    CNJ 1->15
    THM 1->13

    THM is super fun; getting it to 26 for Swiftcast. Going to level SCH after I hit 50 on WAR, so I'm just preparing my cross-class skills. I really love going back and doing the story quests for new classes. It brings the game alive for me when I feel like I making any kind of progress. Can't wait for 2.1 WAR and dungeon exp buffs!

    I finally got to do some dungeons, finished the storyline, ran WP a few times, bought my first DarkLight piece (belt)... Also working on getting my WVR leveled... it was 15 prior to this weekend... I need 50 for CSII and the ability to overmeld my Patrician's armor.

    Here's all I leveled besides Dragoon gear grinding:
    Marauder 19-21
    Weaver 15-31

    I think it's amazing how many different stories there are in this thread every week, there's so many different avenues of advancement... that bodes really well for the longevity of this game! I don't think I could run out of things to do.

    Edit: Forgot to add I beat Ifrit HM a couple times, did not get my weapon so I'm going to farm Garuda for one.

    WHM 49-50.

    Miner 47-48.

    Completed Westwind and did one of those WP runs with Hairspray (got a nice pointy hat in there).

    Crafted up my GSM and LTW gear. GSM is nearly fully-melded. Just need 9 Craftsmanship and 3 Control which I should get tonight. My Patrician's set (which I churn for Materia) is at about 90% SB, and my jewelry is around 80%.

    Otherwise it was pretty quiet for me.

    WVR 40-->50 and geared except Materia
    Crp-->20-->37
    Bot was already 50 so I'm gathering all the material for leveling them and getting the rare nodes as they pop. Overall a good weekend for me.

    Yeah, I got that Darklight kle kle or w/e it's called. I wound up trading it for seals though. My madman's whispering rod HQ had slightly better spell speed and piety and the magic attack was the same. :)

    Lots of Tome runs for me to get as many DL pieces as I could. All I need now is one ring, then off to save up for the body pieces.

    Oh also did AK for the first time. Demon wall took us so many tries before we finally put him down. Loved the way that wall looked

    Oh and Had my friend make me a Rampager Axe. The blades come down when you go into battle stance. I must have spent an hour changing from Battle stance to passive stance.

    What do you mean 'trading it for seals?'

    EDIT: I think I just found out - you mean trading up for GC seals, right?

    Yeah, you go to the guy at your GC and do "Expert Delivery" and you can trade extra greens and pinks for seals. You can even trade in the green crafted gear. Instead of selling an NQ mistake the other day, I got like 140 seals out of it :)

    Congrats! Glad to see you're moving up in the world :D

    The GC's don't really have any benefit from one over the other. So, look at which colors/flag you like better I guess lol.

    That's a lot of story-grinding for a weekend - are you enjoying the game after all your initial questions from last week?

    Immortal Flames ftw. :p

    Ooops, that was in the 2.1 beta.

    I suppose by now you know that you'll need to maintain your FC house or the grout will get all mildewed...
