I know that they have the 512 megabytes of RAM which angers me >:(. I looked at several site and the least expensive 512 RAM Upgrade was $100. I also might need to get a new graphix card.

Buy a Sunday paper with a lot of advertisements. Somewhere in your city you should be able to buy a 256 DDR stick for about $20.00. Sales happen, take advantage.

Either way, I wouldn't buy anything new until the game goes live. There bound to be "back to school" specials at the end of summer on video cards.

90 euros isn't 170 USD, maybe 170 CAD :P

and I'd say the price you payed seems about right, depending on what brand you got and such.

I think Dracosid was using the British pound symbol, not the Euro symbol. IIRC a pound is about 1.5 Euro. But then again, the Euro symbol is very new and may not show up correctly in this browser.

On subject, Eq II will (likely) be out and online for a long time. Probably their initial sys requirements should be rather high. Although (ideally) one should be able to tune down the game to run on a slower computer there are limits to this.

We all want a game we can run without major hardware upgrades, but in the long term we'd like a game with decent graphics - even 5 years down the line. I'm not a big graphics/sound guy but it does add to the game and I feel it does keep lots of other people around ingame - which makes the gaming experience better for us all.
