Getting another pc soon so my girlfriend can play. Would we need to get patches or anything so game runs or is it ready to go as is?

Personally, I would find a way to "downgrade" to Win7.

I was thinking of doing that if need be. Currently got a laptop with no OS but, not being pc savy, the install disc for Win7 wont work because the laptop is not 64bit compatible.

How old is that laptop? My older Samsung is 64 bit compatible, and we're talking a 4+ year old laptop? Also, Fairly certain they do have 32 bit Win7, in fact I believe it's on the same disc.

I honestly don't know. My brother gave it to us about two months ago. The install disc is a Win7 update if that makes a difference.

I'm going to be rolling out an Win8 upgrade on my desktop shortly. (As in, once the ROM finishes burning. It's legal but since it's free, I get no disk...)

I'll let you know.

Awesome, thanks Catwho. My friend found an xp install just need to get him a disc if possible. Rather buy a new pc though less worries about missing or damaged components.

Don't do it! It's a trap!!!!

(I seriously hate windows 8. It's usable if you add the start8 interface mod back in, but aside from that, the interface is a steaming pile of **** compared to 7. I'll grudgingly admit there are some backend improvements in 8 that would be nice to have in a 7 style interface)

The verdict: XI runs with no issues by itself. Just make sure you're logged in as the administrator and that you turned off User Account Controls.

XI's ******* child Windower is another story and crashes, but that will have to be resolved on the Windower forums, not here.
