I thought I made a post about mystery items but I can't find it. I'll just make a new one and sticky it.
1. Fist of Steel - Where is this from? It was tagged Luclin but no drop information or anything. - Unsolved
2. Ritual Earring - Added to lucy on 9-25-2005 which was the month Depths of Darkhollow was released. - Unsolved
3. Teir`Dal Sewing Kit - Is this for some Dark Elf/Wood Elf classic cultural tailoring recipes and items we don't have on the site?

For the Fist of Steel, based on its ID#, it appears to have been inserted with a batch of Fist items: Fist of Bone, Fist of Wood, Fist of Horn, Fist of Rock, Fist of Iron, Fist of Steel, Fist of Mithril, and Fist of Acrylia. None of these show up on Lucy's radar before 2002, so it seems unlikely that it is a Luclin item. However, these all drop off of mobs in different zones, so I don't know which zone to look in.
Edit: Come to think of it, I'm not sure when Lucy started collection information, but it might be around 2002, so perhaps this item is in fact older than that. Lucy didn't capture the Fist of Steel until 2004, though.

Love stuff like this, items in game which are complete mysteries! Some of them were introduced as part of broken or never-inserted quests and the like. I love a game world which isn't entirely documented and that's EQ for sure!

I recently read a June 2017 Tweet from John Smedley where he bemoaned today's "100% game knowledge." I think he overestimated.
effect on the item came in 2002?
Only a few other items with the effect, at least one of which was initially tradable but made nodrop?
Is it searchable in /buyer (and is that different on FV --if it was made nodrop but never run through item collector again) ?
Pretty high-end drop statswise if it is actually from Luclin era, so could be a lost item from one of the revamped/never fixed events.
Might be worth posting at official boards... could result in it being "restored" or at least get a hint that it is a rare drop off a rarely killed NPC in Luclin or such.

I'd guess it came from the old AC, the ring of fire or one of the other removed named mobs maybe the original boss of the zone?

Now some of those items we know where they come from, they just haven't been fed info yet due to other priorities. However there are quite a few of those items where I don't even know where they came from.

I'm foggy on most post LoY content, but here's a shot in the dark:
DoD has all sorts of missions in it. Don't the rewards scale to your level or something?. As well, an evil eye prime ritualist of the right level might drop the ear if it was a logical kind of drop situation.
Seems like reported data on some of the DoDH missions is thin? Or said differently, is DoDH mission content a likely source of a bunch of the mysteries?
