No ballot proposals or referendums for me.

Our new incoming governor is all hep on legalized weed and the state Democrats will likely have supermajorities in both chambers of the state legislature so I'm guessing that's a thing that will happen. Also the very real potential for a progressive state income tax.

Yeah, that's not a big shock. Welp, here comes the constitutional crisis.

Well, with the house controlled by Democrats, they can easily write up a subpoena for 45, and send it right on over to the SCOTUS for approval...Oh, icwutudidther45!

Fun fact (and I'm not implying it'll apply here), Congress has its own arrest powers for "inherent contempt" and, being a technically civil matter, is immune to pardoning by the President. That said, they can't subpoena the president due to Executive Privilege.

I meant for his tax returns and such but I don't know the legalities involved, aren't they allowed to do that?

Yeah, there's some law that allows the House to get IRS records for investigation.

And does that have to go in front of the SCOTUS? I could look it up, but this is easier.

I don't see why it would. It's a law governing activity between the House and the IRS. Neither party needs permission from the courts.

I saw an episode of Law & Order that had nothing to do with this topic and am randomly guessing that you're wrong and they need permission from every level of court if it's to investigate anyone that even says they're conservative.

Seriously? You honestly think the best use of the Dems power in the House would be to go through Trump's Tax returns? Really? That was campaign rhetoric from two years ago. I'd think that would be about the dumbest thing they could do at this point.

It's like you want the Dems to do everything looking through a rear view window.

Way to miss the entire fucking point, you pablum spewing moron. Try to read the whole thread, to see what was being discussed, it wasn't about the tax returns, I was talking about the SCOTUS.

They could always milk another couple years of Benghazi investigations.

Yeah, but can you just imagine what it's going to be like? Eight years of people "asking questions" about his tax returns? And even when he eventually releases them people will still insist it isn't good enough and demand his long form tax returns? To the point that 45 will send interns to Hawaii to look for them? I swear, sounds like a nightmare. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of asshole would be okay with that kind of behavior.

Speaking of conspiracy theories: My daughter wants a little brother for Christmas, my wife wants to be a multi-kid family, and I want like five minutes to play Red Dead II.

30 seconds of effort on your end could end that conversation with them for about 9 months, right?

I hear there are camps full of kids along the southern border. They should fix up the camps like the Macy's windows out here.

Took me an hour (would have taken two hours if I read gbaji's post, most of that in trying to figure out if he actually had a point behind the word salad.) to catch up on two threads I been following and figure I wave my virtual hands to let people know I'm still alive.

So how many of you took part in a Defend Mueller protest the other week. I stood outside Elijah Cummings office for just over an hour in the cold and even took a turn at the microphone.

I other news I spent Labor Day and the week before and after it, helping my youngest care for my newest grandchild. Abigail is getting spoiled by all, as she is only kid my daughter is planning on having since she has spent the last decade raising stepdaughters from pre-school to high school age and oldest now can drive. Hard to think that my daughter was once 13 and posting on the EQ boards as Gilda. Her house is a gamer's temple where the portable crib is placed between her and her husband's computers, and they watch her while talking to their WoW guildmates for hours and raids have to be planned around Abby's sleep and feeding schedule.

Also if I don't come back on by Dec. 2nd, I will be leveling up to 60.

Sounds like my firstborn, when the wife and I were playing EQ/EQ2.
