So...we all know and love the movie Real Genius, right?
Start the following, totally SFW clip and freeze it the moment it starts.

Ok, so the poster on the door of the smoky, smoking girl(?). It seems I should know what that's from but my Google-fu is weak and I can't for the life of me identify it. My brain is telling me it's from an album cover or otherwise related to music (for some reason I'm thinking the punk genre), i.e. an advert for a band and I tried some searching using likely parameters but that's run to a dead end. I also know that the movie contains a crapload of references/Easter eggs that relate to Caltech, but I haven' gleaned anything from that angle, either.

Help me out, people.

Couldn't find anything using several search strings. The "No Smoking" on top makes me think it's just one of the many artsy anti-smoking posters from that era being hung on the door ironically.

Various searches of "white haired" "pale" "woman" "smoking" "poster" etc... yielded a lot of half naked smoking women.

No crazy eyed smoking woman poster though.

Huh. I always thought that was a graffiti'd poster of Einstein.

I used Bing. Wouldn't suggest it if you work somewhere people can see your monitor.

I found out there was a poster contest for "Real Genius", which I did not know. And that you can buy a "Real Genius" poster on Amazon.

I'm doggedly searching for "smoking hot white women" but just can't find the poster. I'm not about to stop trying though.

Looks like cast member Michelle Meyrink a bit. Whether or not, I assume it's basically a prop. So a one-off, made up from a couple of set members who could manage such a thing. Since Real Genius didn't have a gigantic budget. Why/where would they pay for a famous model or already extant poster if they could instead make a version of such on the cheap? And IIRC 97% of their budget was on popcorn.

This is a fool's quest!!! Smiley: mad

I can't imagine where making a one-off poster from scratch would be cheaper than going to Sam Goody and buying one from the giant swing-out rack.

Set design. Props are things you interact with, set design is everything else. And that's all I ever learned from dating an aspiring actress in high school.
